What do you guys think about this fix?

My little S-10 leans to the driver side pretty bad, and I am tired of dealing with it! I was talking to Tobi about this, and he told me about a fix that he had performed by swapping the springs from the driver side to the passenger side. Eventually the truck settles on the high passenger side and all is well. That seems like a very good solution without spending money on spacers or more coils. I was browsing the S-10 forum this a.m. and found this:

This seems a little hokey to me, what do you guys think?

That seems totally unsafe to me. If you are using your sway bar to balance the ride hight, then you would be putting constant tension on the bar in one direction. It should remain neutral in the middle so turning transitions wont be biased. Not only do I think this will not work, I think it will cause the truck to be unsafe in some situations. If you had to make an emergency lane change, it could cause the truck to be unstable and spin. Or the link could break and cause a sudden ride height change during a turn. (had that happen, it sucks.)

That is what I was thinking, there was a guy on that thread talking about that very thing. It was also said that it would put the weight off on the other front corner. Someone else on there said that they heard of road racers doing this same thing but by a different name. What about the spacers or the little crimp thingers that you can put on the coils?

Coil spacers will work, they do change the spring rates of the coils slightly. But I dont think you are too concerned about the trucks road race capabilities are ya?

I would, but I would have to do it in such a way that leaves the bed intact. There seems to be a few guys out there bagged with the lean too, but that might be a seating issue. That GEO is the SHIT! I wanna drive that race car!

I just remembered, that was what Tobi was telling me the other day. I don't need to drag frame, but it would be nice to get it to go as low as it is now with the air out. I was planning on going to bags in the front at least once the LS1 goes in.

swap the springs or get new ones. the reason it does this is because the gastank is mounted on the drivers sidde. it happens on explorers all the time. the tank just wears out the springs. a swap will fix this..... hope it helps.

Yeah, the tank was the first thing that I noticed when I took a look under the truck...which involved driving it onto boards to get the jack under it to lift it up ;P I figured maybe it was a combo of the gas tank plus maybe a big fat guy owned the truck at one time....
