Ferdinand Porsche, original designer of the 911, died yesterday at the age of 76.

“He established a design culture in our company that has shaped our sports car to this very day,” said Matthias Muller, chief executive of Porsche AG. “His philosophy of good design is a legacy to us that we will honor for all time.”

Always sad to lose someone that had such a huge impact on automotive history.

RIP. I don't think its sad. He lived to 74, got to develop one of the most iconic shapes on the road today and got to see his name on the back of thousands of automobiles. What a full fantastic life.
