IMI pics, going again 3-31-07 anyone game?

Anyone game for IMI on Saturday 3-31-07? Cost is 35 bucks and only helmet is required, track prepping the bike is not required there. Of course it is recommended for full leathers, gloves, boots, etc, just not required.

Here are some pics from last Sunday:

Where/what is IMI again... Do you need to have experience and how bad is it for your tires... Is it not a smart idea to do this if you've only been riding for 3 weeks? thanks man...

You will learn more at IMI in one day than riding any street/canyon for a year. As far as good for your tires, it's a small track (1 mile) originally made for go-carts but yes, it can be hard on your tires depending on how you ride.

IMI is a place for dirtbikes to go ride, also streetbikes and go-carts, if going northbound on I-25, then take exit 232 and turn right (away from mountains). go 1.75 miles and it's on your right hand side, the last .75 miles is a dirt road.

We have taken people out there that have been riding for as little as 3 days, plenty of experienced riders there that can be your mentor if you would like. Good chance also to ask any and all questions in person to just about anyone out there regarding riding; body positioning, lines, throttle, braking, etc.

No experience needed..... Just don't get intimidated, show up and have fun, you won't regret it.

On another note, if you have ever been up into the mountains and had a pucker factor going into a turn, thinking you couldn't make it, IMI is a good place to practice your technique and really seeing how far "you" can take your bike.

I hear plenty of people that practice talk about how they wish they would have done this sooner, then gone to the mountains being able to enjoy the ride.

There is a couple of busas that go out there but not last Sunday.

You can go anytime they don't have an actual event. This Sunday there is a supermotard race so it will be closed. But it's open Saturday!!!!

BTW the motards carry an unbelievable pace out there, if your not familiar with them, come see them on Saturday.

See you all out there. I am leaving from Westminster (120th & Huron) by 0815 so if anyone wants to meet up, let me know.

    Jay

PS - We might have to take off mirrors from now on, I'll keep everyone updated.

One last question.. The guy that I'm buying the bike from might give me his gear if it fits me. What happens if I dont have any gear as far as helmet, gloves and jacket, can I still come? If it doesn't fit me I'm going to order my stuff online so it won't be there till later next week... well just let me know

I'd imagine a helmet & gloves are mandatory.

I wouldn't go without helmet, jacket, gloves and boots over the ankle. Not worth it.

You should always ride with those anyway.
