A new member to HAI but not a new addition to the import scene was in a serious car accident today. She is going to be ok, in fact she's already home from the hospital, her car however is a different story.....
GirlieN350Z was involved in an accident today in her new Z. She was T-boned by a 3/4 Ton Dodge Pickup on Kipling. Like I said she is going to be ok, but her car is no longer going to be with us...:(
Please send all your best wishes to Angela and hope that she gets better soon.
Thanks everyone, Keith

car is not important, hope you get well!
Bummer. At least it sounds like the safety systems used in the car worked properly...

If she had been in any other car she'd be gone. The front, side and curtain airbags all worked as they should. The Dodge ended up on its roof!! There will be pictures posted soon of both vehicles I think.
Please pay attention in all intersections, everybody PLEASE!!!
There are a myriad of different sized vehicles on the road today and most of us drive cars that aren't made to handle a hard hit from an SUV or full size truck, so be carefull, be alert and be safe.

Thats just about what I was going to say too John. My roommate was in a nasty accident with a large truck also in his honda. (a while ago) both cars were totalled...but its pretty amazing to me when you think about the time and engineering involved that the good import car companies must put into their cars.
Honestly, any time you can get out of an accident like that alive..you should feel blessed. Glad to hear she is doing ok..and honestly..screw the car. Who cares? Thats why we carry insurance right?
I got an interesting e-mail from a lady that I worked with some time ago..its about life/work balance. I think if you change the wording around..its entirely appropriate to this situation.
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family we Left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to Think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family, An unwise investment indeed, don't you think?
Since a lot of us are pretty hardcore car guys...you can just subsititute work/car in there...or maybe I'm just smoking crack. But there is one thing I know for SURE..when I got out of the hospital..and read what everyone had said about me and even that they were thinking about me..made me feel 100% better. I havent met her yet..but hopefully she'll feel the same way. :)

I would assume she was hit on her side then? Really says somethin about the safety of cars today. Its been said, your more important to friends than your car :)

I guess she was hit on the passenger side, she said if there was anybody else in the car they would've died.

I T-boned a guy doing about 40 in my GSR. It was his fault. The funny part is, it didn't hurt one single bit. I hope you are okay and didn't get too beat up.

Don't really know you, but I hate accidents. I hate seeing them, hearing about them, and worse of all knowing someone on a message board that I visit who got in one. Glad to see that you came out alright. :)
