Ok, re-did the plan. here is a rough draft of what's to come:

www.introspeed.com/trackday.html

it is still being worked on, and i hope some of you guys will put in some advice.
The plan right now is to post this also over at COSR. I know some of you guys don't get along with some of them, but i don't care haha. BUT if your a member of another club and think you can come up 25 people, let me know, the only place I've posted this so far is here.
One thing hasn't changed though, it will be during the week, this i can't change, sorry.
But the plan has been all along to have it in the summer, maybe mid-late june or july.
With this new plan, the price is almost cut in half.

But i really can't stress this enough, i'm open to any ideas/suggestions you have to make this work/work better.
The reason right now it's 25 drivers from two clubs is just because it would be hard to come up with all 50 drivers from here.
Read it over and let me know what you think.

$65 seems a bit steep. A normal Test & Tune is $60 for 4 hours, and most people's brakes wont last nearly that long, so there's no point in paying for more time. And those of us who are SCCA members can do time trials out there for only $45, as well as enjoy the free week at the end of the year.

Not trashing... just saying that not too many people are going to be crazy about the price.

I understand, but for $5 more you get the whole day.
You don't need to run all day, my idea is have it setup as a meet/track day ya know?
Have some food, hang out etc, but also have the option for as many laps as you want.
Also, i don't think many people will be going balls out, win it all style, no need for super crazy pads. First time I went i just got some cheapo napa pads, used em all up, then took them back and got a new set free. Sure, they're not great, but at that point, either was my driving.
I also think it would be a good chance for someone who's never been there before to see what it's all about and not have to worry about some formula ford riding their ass the whole time haha.

I know you guys love canyon runs, so why not do it in a safe place? Just like racing at bandimere, only you'll be turning :)
As a sidenote, the guys out in cali are paying $150+ for trackdays and they have to share the track with other car clubs!

I'm also open for suggestions if anyone has some.
So i take it you wouldn't be "in" weston? :)

I love the idea of it. Unfortunately I think 65 bucks is off the wall for a meet. Yes, I understand the advantages of having the track just for hai members for the day. I'm the first to admit I don't have a fast car, but I do like get togethers with other auto enthusiasts. I would go but I wouldn't run my car at all so it just isn't worth it to me. So I would be in it for the hang out aspect but as far as running on the track, it isn't worth it to me to pay $65. Just my $.02.

alright, so the price seems to be the sticking point so far.
hmmm.
keep in mind that was based off of 30 people showing up to drive. The more that show up, the cheaper it gets.
The problem with more drivers though is that it goes from a "meet" to an actual track day, where to keep things safe i think cars would have to run in groups to keep the number of cars on the track at one time down.
I mean shit, you get 100 people and now your looking at $19 for the day.

But if anyone would still be interested OR has any ideas of bringing the cost down let me know, i'm "all ears".
I just don't dig the hanging out in a parking lot meets anymore. I mean, we're all car people, we like to drive, so why not combine it all into one ya know? instead of showing off your new mod, take the person out for a few laps and let em check it out firsthand haha.

what about maybe letting another group in?
say we split it up, 25 members from each?
That brings the cost down to $38 a driver.

Yeah, for 19 bucks I would definitely do it. I just wouldn't consider paying more than thirty especially if I'm not running. If there was any way to get a guaruntee that we could get that many people together I'd say let's do it. Being that it'll be a weekday it'll make things that much harder with people's work schedules. I think it's a great idea and I give you props for coming up with it but I just don't think it's too realistic, I may be wrong.

yeah man, i totally understand what your saying.
that's why I'd like to get an idea of how many people would actually be willing to take work off, and pay to go.
The plan would to find out who wants to do it for sure.
Make a list of the people plus like 5-6 backups in case someone has to back out, this way nobody is left making up the payment for that one person.

Now that I think about it, i'm going to re-think this out with two "clubs" in mind. I think doing the 25 from each club will be a lot easier, as well as cheaper.
If your still down to spend money, and take work off for a day at the track post up though and I'll get with you once the new "plan" is worked out hehe.

Here's a thought. A lot of the people on this board are in school so if you planned this for sometime during the summer, then I'm sure a lot would show up. I also like the idea of sharing between groups. Just let me know and I can get a thread goin on 3si for ya.

heh, COSR? I personally have nothing against them but I know that a lot of people do. Hopefully everyone acts cool. The plan looks good to me
