Last night I was beaten so bad it made me wonder if all the work I have been putting into my 99 Si has been futile. On my way home I pull up to a silver (I think) mitsu 3000 gt thinkin I'll get another kill on some poor sap who think it's funny a guy in a honda civic wants to race (this happens quite a bit). Green light and this guy pulls out a bit on me while I'm watin for my turbo to spool up. Next comes the part where my car usually comes back and it's over shortly there after. Not this time. This guy walked away from me like I was standing still. I spent the rest of the night wondering what it would take to sell my Si and get my mits on a S2000. Conclusion, probably this time next year. So props out to the guy who just renewed my drive to make my car fast as possible. And if you happen to know this guy (or girl) tell him thanks.

1st off, expect to get beat off the line because they are awd.
secondly, if your running stock internals on your si you should have some trouble with vr4's anyway they have 320hp and a much higher top end.
dont beat yourself up too bad, just build your bottom end and run alot of boost then when you do gain traction you can kill em with your 1.6

It was silver.

I want to send my block off to GEM soooo bad I can taste it. First I gotta get my EMS setup.

I raced TheJackels VR-4 and he ended up in my rearview mirror.

Worst lost was to a stock looking Red RX-7 running twin non squential turbos, guy said he ran 12's. Thought my car broke watching him take off.

320 flywheel hp at sea level. Up here the stock turbos run out of breath pretty quickly.

And don't forget Mitsu really packed on the pounds with the AWD and technical gadgetry.

Yeah, like 3600+ pounds I think? Plus they're only putting about 270 or so to the ground, the AWD robs a bunch.

But "silver"? Wow, I never seen a silver 3000gt before, only black, red, white, and a few green. Other colors are very rare it seems...

your profile says you have a GTO.... 92 GTO but i thought and correct me if im wrong they only made the GTO's in Japan...

now im assuming you mean GTO as in the Japanese 300 GT VR-4... but i dont know.

im probably ahead of myself here... but isnt saying you have a Japanese GTO like putting a Type R sticker on your Stock Honda Accord?

There's such things as "Conversions" my friend... It may not be a true GTO but think about it this way, Titus has a boosted GSR and he calls it a GSR-T and if someone had a GSR and decided to do the JDM front end conversion, I'm sure they'd probably call it a Honda Integra SiR-G... Point of the matter is, he'll smoke your Purple family sedan so keep your opinions to yourself kid :D

The only difference really was the name.
GTO was used in most countries except N America
I don't like the long name 3000GT VR4.

So no it’s not, as no modifications are need to make the car a GTO.
if you still feel it’s rice oh well.
And we’re still using that word stock

stock silver 3000gt's are rare... theres probobly more custom paint ones then stock ones, but i havent heard of him..

GTO is same as 3000gt... Some GTO's came with 13g's instead of 9b, but not all of them..

Pang did pull on me but that was from a roll, and i had my box in the back, but oh well....

Dude...you have gotta be on crack...or been in the dark the past 10 years. A 3000GT VR4 has a 0-60 time of like 5 seconds STOCK. A CIVIC STOCK IS JUST TERRIBLE! Don't feel bad though man...you are racing with a 4 cylinder turbo...hes racing in a 6 cylinder twin-turbo with twin intercoolers. Did i mention all wheel drive?

:guns:

u got blasted!

Quit stealing the GTO name from a "real" muscle-car. The Pontiac "goat". Heheheh.

By the way, didn't Mitsubishi also steal the 3000gt name from the old original MK1 Supra, also called a 2000gt WAY back in the day? (1967) I might have my history wrong, but that's what I recall. Figures, with Mitsubishi...

Do you live in Boulder and drive a red 3000gt SL?

I just noticed you are 16 and have an SL, well yea today a 16 year old lookin person and his friend were next to me at a light. I noticed them look over and get excited, but I had already checked out the car and I didn't feel like racing at that moment... The driver still chirped his tires off the line trying to race me.
It was funny.

So yea, was that you by chance?
It was on pearl and 28th.
