I'd love to try go but I need to do a few things to be able to race up there. I need to bracket my short ram intake, also anyone know if I need a radiator fluid catch can?. Another question, does anyone know how to get one of those sheets to have my parents sign if I am under 18 and want to race this season?

When I went last year, I didn't have a radiator catch can and the inspection guy must have missed it or something. As for the waiver, you can get one mailed to you or you can get one down there but then you're parents would have to come with you. Has anyone had any experience in forging one of these or something like it??

umm...I guess I dont see the point in this. If you get caught...my guess would be that you would get your ass banned from the track for life (Vin Diesel style)

Besides..its not that hard to get the paperwork together..why try and forge it? I guess I dont really worry about it beings how I'm an old man and shit...but still. I like the track too much to risk getting kicked off, and the NHRA rules are there for ALL of our safety. I know I wouldnt hesitate turning someone in to tech if I thought or found out their car was unsafe..or not up to the "rules" call me crazy or something..

My parents dont think that testing my car is safe so they wont sign the waiver. Otherwise, I would just go ahead and get it signed...

When I had my 00 GTS my best was a 16 flat, I had AEM CAI and TRD exhaust. I haven't seen any celicas get any better at bandi.

Just tell your parents that its a fun hobby, it will keep you off drugs, and it could not be any safer with all the rules that they use. If your parents arn't Nazi or something they should let ya go;)

You will go about a second faster at Firebird in PHX. I ran best of 15.3 down there in my Teg (when it was n/a) and best of 15.9 at Bandi. My Bandi run was w/ stripped interior though, phx was full interior.

I will be there on Saturday. Debating whether or not to go to the meet at Flatirons...

I'm working on it, na, its hard to believe a 17 yr old can afford a vr4. If he can afford it, more power to him. It's a nice car either way.

Thanks for the compliment. I paid 9000, parents paid 1500. Thats not too bad considering what some kids my age get their parents to buy them, not to mention any names...

How's the insurance for the VR4? I cant imagine they have a lot of faith in you with a 300 hp car.

yrretvr4
04-10-2003, 02:11 AM
Insurance sucks... about $300 a month. The parentals help with that though, or at least they used to...
Both parents hate the car and strongly disapprove of me pouring money into it to make it faster, but I do anyways, lol.

Well just ask them to race you in there Kia...then they will understand;)

I might go watch on Saturday, but I plan on running all day Sunday.
I made a catch can for my Cuda out of a shampoo bottle right in front of the Bandimere tech and he okayed it about 4 years ago. I think you can use any plastic container you want. Just screw it to your radiator support.
