Summer Series #2 is at Coors Field on Sunday, April 13th. Directions and driver registration is at http://www.rmsolo.org
I'll be there as a driver. Look for the white 3rd gen Teg with a Type-R wing and the number 256 on the doors.
It's free to come out and watch... just sign a liability waiver and you're in. You'll see lots of 3-wheel action, spin outs, and cones being abused in just about every possible way. You can even take rides! I think my car may be overbooked for riders already, but there's probably going to be about 200 other cars participating out there. People are very friendly, and there are loaner helmets out there, so it shouldn't be hard to find a ride.
If you want to participate, it's $35 and you do not have to be an SCCA member, but you get in for $25 if you are. You do need to have a valid Driver's License, and it's a volunteer event, so every driver needs to work the course for one heat (it's easy and a great view of the action). There is a rookie meeting and course walk for people who don't know how things flow. And you can always ask me if you're not sure about something.
As always, there's absolutely no alcohol or illegal drugs. Burnouts, revving engines, street racing, reckless driving, or other acts of stupidity will not be tolerated. In fact, they do keep an eye out for people doing such things, and violators will be banned from future events and reported to the Police. The Police are aware of our events and will likely be in the area, but you wont get hasseled unless you're doing something wrong. So, that means no Fast & Furious children, but people who can behave themselves are always welcome.
I hope to see you there!

And here's a few pics from the March 30th event (http://www.vMac.org/~weston/teg/Misc/2003-03-30/). I didn't get many good shots this time, but Volcom says he has some pretty sweet ones that he may eventually post before I die of old age. ;)

I'll be there, but I have a question for registration: Is my winter season number still valid, or do I have to request a number again? (22-STS)

It should still be valid. If you're still in the registered drivers list, then you're golden. We were wondering where you were on Sunday.

Work- got a new job at the House Depot and I worked full time over spring break. Fun stuff. But now I work a little less and have requested the 13th off so I will be at that one. I'll go register right now. See you there.

I've never been to one. I do have a question though. Is there a lot of first timers there? I don't want to be a loner the whole time  . Do you think it's better to just watch and ride the first time, or to actually try driving the course? Thanks

There's usually a good number of people out there that are doing it for their first or second time. They'll have a beginner's meeting and course walk that will explain a few things, and give you some advice for how to drive the course.
There should be at least a few other HAI'ers out there too. I'll be there, Talus will be there, probably Volcom, and some other people. I see Tommy303's Focus at most events, but I've never actually met him in person.

A track is set up with cones, and timing lights at the begining and end measure how long it takes you to go through it. Depending on what kind of car you have and what mods you have done, you race within certain classes.
Check out the RMsolo site (http://rmsolo.org/index.html) for all the info and rules.
This will be my second race and there are always plenty of new people and everyone is willing to help you out the first time.
If you are uncertain, I would recommend jsut comming and watching or catching a ride around the track with someone. that will definitely help you decide. I went to like three races before I participated.

I wonder what the BMW club would say if I showed up at their autocross in my Acura, lol. Hey, it's a "poor man's BMW"
Anyways, Sunday the 13th is the last SCCA autocross in Denver until the end of July. So if any of you Denverites want to check it out, it's your last chance for a few months, unless you drive down to Colorado Springs.

I might go down to check it out, but I wont be driving, too chicken.
On the waiver form for people under 18 do they...gulp...have to have parent signature...cause I sware im not forging another;)
Weston

The only time a parental signature is needed is when the person is under 13. People 13 and up can sign the liability waiver themselves.
I don't remember there being anything special for drivers who are under 18, but I'm not 100% sure. I do know that you must have a valid drivers license to participate, but I think that's all. I can find out for sure, if you're interested in driving. Let me know...

But I do got one question...Does anybody ever get lost on the Course, cause thats the main reason I have never done autoX (dumb question I know:rolleyes: )

Sometimes people get lost. That's the cause of a lot of DNF's. There are lines on the sides, so it's not it's just a confusing sea of cones, but some courses are a little tricky. It's rare that someone gets totally lost. They usually just go outside of one cone then realise their mistake and get back on course. If they had just hit that cone, it would have been a 2 second penalty rather than a DNF.

How do you get a car number? It says you have to have a car number to pre-register... but when i try to reserve one... u already have to have one

You request a number. First find out what class you should run by comparing your mods to the rules. Then look at the registered numbers page and decide which number you want that is not taken. Then use this page (http://rmsolo.org/season_number_form.html) to request a number. After you have a number, you can register. I dont know if there is enough time left to register before the upcoming race on sunday, but you can try.
