Looking at all my differant options for a new car and so now I am researching the Integra LS. I think if I got it that I would be pretty much set on the Greddy kit. Just wondering a few things- 1) I've read that the max boost the block can handle with proper tuning is 10psi, is this true?
2) Why is the Greddy kit only made for the 96-99 LS and not newer or older, and would it still be able to fit on a 94-95?
3) Does anyony have track times at bandimere for a GSR/LS with any type of FI?
Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the help.

10 psi max with good fuel management and tuning on any b series block. 6-7 max otherwise. Why are you not interested in a vtec head block?

Well the LS is cheaper but if I can find a GSR for a good price then I will get it. Plus the insurance on the LS is a little cheaper. I will get what ever my budget can afford.

dont the non vtec models handle more boost due to lower compression?

Currently I drive a 92 civic LX but am going to put it up for sale in a week or so. Why, would you like to buy it j/k. Right now before I put it up for sale, I am trying to research my prostpects- 92-94 GSX, 94-97 Integra LS or GSR, and 92-96 Prelude SI or VTEC. I am researching insurance prices, dealer prices, performance mod costs, reliablity, and availablity.

I have also heard that the LS block can handle a little more boost with the lower compression and also that the tranny is ideal for FI.

FI.
reliability- go with honda
performance hp per dollar- the 1g dsm is going to kill the others by about 20 buslengths
insurance is kinda individual none of the cars listed ar going to be very expensive though due to the age you will only need liability.

Exactly and that is why I am stuck. I guess that I will need to test drive all three and see. I am mostly leaning towards the GSX and either Integra.

yea, the ls can hand;e more boost...but it also makes less hp per psi of boost.

but turbo + doch vtec is VERY FUN!

get a gsr if you can find one

1, I run my GSR at 10psi daily....but I have 550cc's, AEM EMS and low compression head gasket.
2, Hmm, I don't see why it wouldnt fit. I think I remember that the downpipes are different lengths for the different years. IDK.
3, No track times yet....sorry.

Actually the GSR bottom end will hold up to boost better due to stronger internals because of the extra power it has. You will be disapointed if you get an ls. My friend has a supercharged ls with about 4 grand under the hood and he pulls mid 15s. WIth a GSR turbo you would easly hit 14s. If you get a turbo kit for it and get injectors and a new pump 10 psi is pretty much about the safe max. If you are looking for a GSR. Me and my bro are selling our 95 GSR with cai, short shifter, 2.5 inch exhaust, headers, lowering springs, cd player, front pumper for about 5 grand. It runs awsome but needs mirrors and new brake pads. Those are the only problems with the car. Let me know if your interested.

My roommate works at a dealership in boulder and just finished installing the Greddy kit on an Integra. It is sweet.

I used to talk to a lot of people who turbo those cars and they can be very very fast. One guy I kno was mid 13s up here and hasnt built the bottom end yet. I cant remember how much boost he was running. Though I have seen several of these cars turbo and they are nice.

Of course the Type-R owns all!! Turbo mag. measured 160WHP and 160Ft/Tq. at 7psi with the LS equiped with the Greddy kit. Do you guys know at all what type of times I could expect with those numbers or the GSR with 7psi with the Greddy kit?

Well just got a reply back from Greddy and I guess there are compatability issues with the OBD I that was equiped on the 94-95 and are having trouble with the FMU and the injectors.

they are supposed to be making a kit for the 94-95 LS & GSR. if you are looking for more overall power, go with the GSR. :D

yea that's true, they have been saying that for a while but who knows.....maybe someday.... yea it just switched from OBDI to OBDII in 96 and that's about it.

Is it possible to switch from OBD I to OBD II?

no, you wouldnt want to. just use a better method of engine management.
