I was talking to a friend of mine, he said that he is getting TWIN turbo in his 96 civic. It just a 1.8 liter. He said that it works off the intake. It puts out like 6-7 psi and adds like 70-80 horsepower. Is that even possible? Is he for real or just full of shit?

Yea, no need for a twin turbo in a four cylinder.

a 96 civic should have a 1.6L unless he swapped it to a LS or a GSR motor. Turbos run off unused exhaust gases...they dont bolt up to the intake. I think your friend is full of shit.
Sounds like the guy I talked to the other day in my store. He told me that he had the basic upgrades on his Integra, I/H/E O2 sensor, ignition, you know the normal stuff. lol.
I told him I used to have a GSR and he thought about it for a second, then said, "Yeah I used to have a Type R."
I said, "Oh yeah, what year?"
He replied, " '94"
I said, "It wasn't a Type R then, they didn't make them then." Then he got this blank stare and started telling me what his car had on it now. Then I told him to come here....opps. Oh well.
He then

I used to have a type R. It had mad Horsepower. the most of any stock block in the United states. It was faster than any car on the street. Even without a turbo it would smoke anything.
I think that kid came in the day before you did Tobi. How are all your parts? I hope they work, I wouldn't want you to come over here and beat me up.
If it was 100% built, sure. Most any motor could...

They had a twinturbo kit for MR2s, but it's not made anymore. I guess the thought is that hypothetically you could have two tiny turbo's spool faster than a bigger one...

Damn! yo! I need to have you do some m4d Type-R-ish tuning on my Lancer! I know it will never have the balls to hang with your old TYPE R but I think it will be close. John Force is slow anyway! I think he was only in his "Si" when you raced...everyone knows how inferior they are to the god-like TYPE R!!! :)

Except, theoretically, two turbos with half the exhaust flow each spool four times slower.

wow 2 turbos would be just as cool as 3 blowoff valves.

Oh damn! If hes twin turboing his Civic, im sure as hell gonna Tri Turbo my talon bish! If i get Type R engraved on the Exhaust manifold, i think it will speed up the exhaust flow and spool my turbos up faster than you can say own3d!

I know it sounds funny to say twin turbo civic. but for anyone who cares to know, its been done and aparently works well. DRT has produced a twin turbo civic that runs 9.5's Obviously a full drag civic and a street driven civic are completely different and the application wouldnt be nearly the same but I thought its some info that some people might want to know. Some people that replied to this seem to be flaming the idea rather than the stunna who wants to do it on a street car. Go to this page and look at the picture all the way in the bottom left. Yes....thats a picture of 2 turbos in the grille.

i think the cost alone of a custom exhaust manifold for TTing a B18 would cost as much as the cars worth

so, no, you didn't put an end to it :p
