View Full Version : Engine swap 3.2tl engine
I have a 02 accord coupe. It's too slow. I want to swap it with an Acura 3.2TL-S Engine & Tranny. Would anyone know how much one would cost.
More than it would be worth if you have an 02 Accord.

Maybe you should have bought an older car with cash and did an engine swap with it and then turbo... That would kill any 2002 accord I've ever raced, and that was with my old engine. :D

hah yeah i was going to do that with my accord also. but the costs would be phenomenal. im just gonna wait 5 months and sell both my cars and buy a new Z.
does it void the honda powertrain warranty if i were to put simple parts on it like intake or exhaust?

Depending on the deealeship, but technically I was told that as long as the mod doesn't cause or is related to the problem than you still have the warranty on that part of the car.
For example, if you put on I/H/E and your shocks go out. They shocks are still under warranty.
I don't see why it would. I/H/E is nothing. It's not like youd get enough power to break anything. You shouldn't even have to worry about the powertrain for the time that it's under warrenty anyway.

anyways if something breaks and it IS related. just switch it back to stock.

Why do a lot of people think engine swaps are easy? And that it can be done to any car?

because in this case, the tl-s and the 6th gen accord share the same body style and they think that the engine swap would be similar to a d16 to a b18 swap.

I bet you can't name ONE thing that could possibly break from having I/H/E. I can't think of anything. It doesn't even effect emissions.

stu shit happens, if something breaks, and they have a chance to say its cuz that, they will. I/H/E shouldnt cause any probs since gains are minimal, however shit happens, factory defects, etc.

I wonder if these people consider costs of the actual engine and labor when they think of these swaps. These motors aren't a pull a premium.

the block can be gotten pretty cheap.
labor is going to be a lot on it.
the tranny is going to be hard. and spensive.
