This came off of the thread over at endyn on making your own race gas, which i'd also like to point out was kind of a cool thread.

pretty much by using off the shelf stuff and pump gas they were making some "home-grown" race fuel. Has some info on how the F1 teams prepare their fuel also.

yeah, they started them back up around the start of the year, i just found out like 4-5 weeks ago myself.

I tried making some home brew race fuel a few months back using toluene, but I couldn't fin the stuff anywhere. I guess it's used to make crystal meth or something, so not very many shops sell it anymore.

according to the guy there, boat places have it.
He actually said "boat paint stores".

I'm thinking about digging in the yellow pages and seeing if i can find a place that sells it.
Of course, i guess it would help if i had a worthwhile motor to run it in haha.
