Mine is when I was stock (in the Supra) and I went after this guy in a red C5 Vette in the Springs. I pulled 3+ cars on the launch on him (which was weird) and he ran me down and flew by me like I was nothing. At the next light, he asked,"Do you want to race" in a shitty arabic accent. I asked him what he had done to it.. and he said it was stock (yeah, right) I was so pissed, I just turned around and went home.
In the Audi... I got my ass handed to me by a guy with a single turbo'd Mystique Supra. LOL. :eek:

I tryed to race a silver '02 mustang gt. I didnt see the a pilar guages or hear the supercharger whining...he put about 10 car lengths on me at least.

I did hold him off till 65mph thanks to my AWD launch but he pulled past me so hard that I might as well have been parked.

At the track I lost last year at a club clash to a 57 ford Crown victoria by .003 seconds.

On the street in my civic I thought I had this guy beat froma a light and he flew past me after second gear like he had a jet engine in the thing. When I stopped to talk to him he was a big dick. Later I found out at the track he runs mid 11s with a 502 BB and NOS in a mid 90 chevy truck. Stock looking thing too.

last summer I was waiting to turn on to academy when a Ford lightning when buy... I hauled ass to catch up and we raced from a roll and he pulled on me BAD then we slowed way down hoping the next light would turn red so we could race from a launch but being that it was 2 in the morning the light wouldnt turn so we just stopped in the middle of the street and launched from there... I had him by about a car length due the the awd launch but then he just blew past me

A very stock looking LT1 Camaro put about ten buslengths on me one day from the light at Kipling and Bowles. I can usually hang right with them if they're stock or close to stock, but this guy spanked the living crap out of me. I don't know what he had done but it was fast.

My worst was the first night i got my Teg. i race a Tiwn Turbo RX7. i stayd with in first but after that it was all over with. o well i will race anyone. even if i know i will lose.

The only cars I've truely raced on the street with were the DSMs and the supra. The DSM was untouchable from stoplight to stoplight, and the supra was pretty much untouchable on the freeway.

And no, Paul, the minivan doesn't count.

My record on the street was pretty successful. The -best- race I had was with an alcohol burning nitrous spraying drag only Nova. He didn't spray, and only beat my DSM by about 1.5 carlengths.

If I recall the incident correctly, I had a couple of passengers in the car (probalby 450-500 lbs extra) and was running 18psi on pump gas. We were on C470, and he brake boosted & sprayed on me. I didn't really consider it a race, hey - it's a valid point.

So the car was beaten by another supra once. :)

Oh OK. For some reason I thought you had a 20 year history of tuning cars and have had a bunch of different hot rods over the course of your life. I wasn't aware that the DSM and Supra were your only two cars that you've raced on the street. I can see why you haven't been beat much now.

No, it wasnt yours. It was actually another kid (Bret) that lives in Boulder. He bought it from some guy in Kentucky. I think he only had it for a month and he wrecked it.

The worst i ever got killed was to a Ferrari 355 Spider, it was back when i was a riceboy badly. I had a 89 toyota camry LE. So i saw him and finaly both were at a stop light then went at it. I knew i was gonna lose no question but to hear that motor at 8k+ was heavenly ;)

Worst loss for me was to a modified 911 Turbo on the Turnpike. Not just once, but over and over again all the way from Denver to Boulder. I still can't believe how quickly he was able to blast up to 160 and back down again, while my car was taking what seemed like an eternity to hit 130.

And on a much more embarrassing note... Just today a GMC "Dually" with a TurboDiesel left me choking on his black exhaust and I couldn't catch up until I hit 80 mph. I wasn't expecting to race and didn't floor it until I had already shifted into second, but STILL! I had the same shocked look on my face that I normally see from others when I beat them with a Volvo.

I looked up the specs for that TurboDiesel... 300HP and 520 ft-lbs of torque at 1800rpm :eek:

I got my ass totally handed to me by a red 98ish supercharged cobra in my Jetta a while back. This dude nailed it from about a 25-30 MPH roll on academy, broke traction and left me like I was standing still. I wish i could have caught up to him to talk.:(

not to be cocky but i rarely lose on the street, total of 2 or three losses. but when i was 17,(i am 25 now) i raced a 65 year old woman in a black truck with ground effects and snazzy rims. i was in my 89 2 door caviliar which i thought was pretty fast. i decided to show her what was up and took off pretty damn quick, about a half a block later i slowed down and looked back and i totally wasted her, but then i looked again and she was not even there, i then look up and she was about a block and a half in front of me. i got spanked by an old woman. i then came to find out that she was driving a gmc syclone and shortly there after i went out and got one to. i have since then lost only one race in it to a 32 ford roadster. the other 200+ i have just murdered.

I've been pretty much toasted by a few Chevy pick-ups when I had the GSR. The one that was like a week after I got my car had a lift and big tires, and the other one was a stock looking orange truck that some guy was driving. Tobi's story reminded me of it. After he blew past me, he was shaking his head at me, but seemed to lay off the dick sauce when I started telling him how it must be fun to sucker people with his truck. I've lost to lots of stuff now that I think of it.

ran into one of our contractors in his toy (late 60's chevelle SS?? sorry, not much of a "classic" car guy :( )... anyhow, I drive like an ass to catch up to him, and the light in front of us changes... I draw quick little circles with my finger, thinking he will role down his window and chat... later I find out he thinks I'm saying "let roll"... the light changes, and before I can even let out the clutch, he is a good mile down the road... no idea what is in that thing, but its got a full cage, slicks, and 9 sec. time slips from the guy he bought it from in Minisota... basically, I found out later that he had just finished some tuning, and was out for a cruise... the only way I should have ever been sitting at a light next to that beast is if it was on a trailer!!! Course, even with it on a trailer behind his Big ass ford turbo truck, I still would have had no chance :( it was so cool :)

ohyeah, I swear the header primaries are 3" pipe... I'm thinking its a 454?

I raced a RX7 with a single turbo conversion in my old talon. I punked him off the line only to get my doors blown off by the time i hit 60. Damn car would make a loud bang noise and fart fire out the exaust everytime he shifted. It made me sick. I had never lost that bad and ive raced some badass cars (porsche, Viper, 300zxTT, Chevelles,Novas, ect). I honestly thought something was messed up cause i felt like i wasnt moving. Im still not over that.

When I had my S2000 and it was pretty stock, I came upon either Hal or Dave...whichever one has the 2g...going down Mississippi towards Buckley. I saw the car and it looked like the exhaust was pretty stock so I thought I would try to race him. Big mistake...we went from a 30 or 40 roll and he left me like none other. I had no idea what happened until I asked my friend Larry about the car and he told me what's up.:eek:

i few years ago i raced a guy in a ZR1 vette. mind you this is the ONLY fast vette ever made (none of chevy's new junk has the potential of this car). he was running a 200 shot and a slew of other go fast goodies. we went from a 25MPH roll, i was running high 12's then. on the count of 3 we went at it. this is no lie, he hit 3rd gear before my turbo spooled!!! i have never seen a car that fast on the street. not bus lengths here, these were train lengths.

my buddy has the first production syclone ever made... its sooooo sweet, only 16,000 milez on it too. bought it two years ago with 7K milez... i guess it helps that his g/f 's father owns 7 GMC dealerships in denver... lucky bastard!

Pulled off, he said it was blown and TOTALLY built. Recently bought it for $25k, so considering how old it was, that says a lot...

1st. my neighbors '69 Z28 w/ a 302. this bastard runs 11's on the track...
now hes building a '61? '62? devoy, with a 454 hemmy in it. about 550 hp. and not only that but his damn devoy weighs only about 300 pounds more than my CRX (has a car frame instead of a full truck frame like most old cars) he says by the time hes done with it, it will run 8's. that damn Z28 of his left me behind faster than a preppy chick from a nerd

2nd. against my friends '00 or '01 chevy extream. he had just god done putting intake/exhaust, performance chip, new tires/rims, and some other stuff to it.
