I was driving my car and noticed it smelled like burnt oil through my heater vents. I was lookin around at the intake manifold(GSR) and right by where the injectors are, there is 3-4 different puddles of oil there. I am also leaking oil from somewhere underneath the car and i cannot figure this out so if someone could help me out or give me an idea of what it might be, that would be great.
Thanks,
Bryan

I got an idea for you... start the car, get a flashlight, and find out where it's coming from.

Sounds like the valve cover gasket is goint bad, replace it. The leak underneath the car might be due to an oilpan gasket, or oil is falling from the valve cover gasket.
I know he just replaced his valve cover gasket

yea i did jus replace it and it doesnt seem like the leak is comin from there anyways....it's really wierd. As for the oil under the car....i know everything is tightened up really good so maybe it is the oil pan gasket. But what i really dont understand is the oil right by the injectors on the intake manifold. Ill try to post some pics up so ya'll can see what im talkin about.
check your breather filter, you might be getting too much blow by. If so time for a new set up rings.

yea that's just the thing, i dont have a breather filter. Its just really wierd that the oil is showing up where it is.

don't take this like i'm talking shit or anything, but did you install the valvecover gasket the right way?
A lot of times they're a little to long and get get pinched and twisted in certain spots ya know?

yea im pretty sure i put it on right, ive taken it off and put it back on a few different times (with a new valve cover gasket each time)....i guess i'll just have to take it off again and reseal it and see if that goes away.

well i think that i solved the problem as for the oil on the intake manifold, but i still cant figure out the oil from under the car. I think it might be the oil pan gasket or something....maybe its just a good idea to replace it anyways since the car is kinda rackin up the miles.
