View Full Version : anyone good at porting exhaust parts?
I need to have my o2 sensor housing ported out to hopefully cure my creep. it really sucks Im using my boost guage as though it were my tachometer, I have my boost set at only 10 psi but around 4500 rpms it starts climbing quick so when it starts to build I have to shift.:( I am looking for someone who will port it for a fair price

I've done alot of porting work but now I have no where to do it except my work but I'm always busy. You can ask Xakep over on COSR or on RMDSM how my porting is. He's seen my work. I ported the dumped o2 housing I sold him thats on his TSi. I need to buy a compressor for my house.:(

It's not too hard just time consuming. Depends on which kinda bits you got to do it with.
Porting the O2 housing won't help. Port the backside of the wastegate - open it up well and your creep will most likely go away.
I ran a stock 2g exhaust manifold & a stock 2g O2 housing on my 12.1 @ 114 DSM. Creep? No - but I had a real wastegate on the motor...

so how do you port stuff, just take some air tools with metal grinder/sanders to it? Need details! :)

Porting at most of the dsm vendors is about $75 per piece. It is time consuming and you use up your bits which cost $$ too.
Hopefully you have a 2G O2 hsg or even better would be an EVOIII O2 hsg. The 1G wg passage sucks and isn't worth porting and you being unhappy that you spent $$ and it didn't solve the issue completely.
If you have a 2G O2 hsg I'll port it for $75. I've ported just about everything on my car or parts that were on my car at one time.
Exh mani, turbine hsg, O2 hsg, intake mani, TB, TB elbow, compressor cover.

You dont happen to have your old o2 housing sitting in garage collecting dust do you?
I have another ? for you veterans on this issue, I've searched and came up with only the short.
does creep normally occur when a new modification or boost level is introduced or does it just occur over time?
No new modifications have been made other than a fuel pump upgrade in a year now, but the creep is new. I have gone over it looking for any possible vaccum leak and came up short as well. I even replaced the mbc in attempt to correct this.
thanks for the input!

Could be a few things...
One is that its colder than a witches tit.
Could be an exhaust leak, maybe the wg flapper isn't moving the way it should, could be the wg actuator as well.
