I recently acquired Dnvr's old TD04 turbo and I have my old tdo5h which has a bigger housing. Is there anyway to make a hybrid turbo out of these? Like what parts can I swap back and forth.

To be more specific the exhaust/turbine housing on my tdo5 is cracked so that piece can't be used. Also the "cartrdige" as I have heard it called is stiff and the shaft doesn't spin freely. When I say cartridge I mean the block inbetween the compressor and turbine sides of the turbo where the oil and water lines go into. The compressor side of the tdo5 is fine. What I want to know is if I can used the tdo5 compressor housing on the tdo4 cartridge? Can I swap the compressor and turbine blades back and forth?

what car is this going on?
if your making a custom kit for your honda, I would just leave the turbo how it is and have a quick spooling torque down very low performance aspect. then in the future you could incorporate a td05 (16g, big 16g or 18g) into the mix very easily because the mounting positions of the two are the same.

Maybe, but not by yourself. Take the parts to TEC in Golden.

it can be done but it's not recommended...it would cost way too much money to get all of the componets that you would need to get that running...i wouldn't do it personally...

Is the TD04 a 13b? Did it come from an automatic DSM?

Ryan ordered a JDM motor and it was the auto variety.

Possibly a leak in the system or your WG actuator is going. But what Art said, what mods do you have?

The turbo is probably tired out. Is it a 14b?

Ditto to what Medli said - check your IC plumbing connections.
