I have a friend of mine here who is interested in putting a venom kit on his neon. He wants to know if it will blow his motor. He just hit 125K on his motor. Please reply to let him know because he does not believe me.

Venom supposedly is a pretty good kit, albeit quite expensive.

I had the Venom 2000 kit on my other GSX and it had 165,000 miles on the stock engine along with a Big 16G and alot of other mods and I never had a problem with it. The Venom 1000 is just like any other kit basically but the 2000 kit has a computer that tells it if the car is running too rich or too lean and it'll either compensate for it through the fuel injectors or it'll completely shut it off. If he's hell bent on a Venom kit or any nitrous kit, I'd say the Venom 2000 is the way to go.

from what I've read lately the venom kits were overpriced. The NOS or NX kits worked just as well.

Also from what I've read is that you should do a compression and leakdown test before you get the nitrous

Neons cant handle more than a 50 shot on the stock internals..Unless hes gonna use the progressive feature of the venom kit. Then 75. But with his milage i wouldnt do more than a 50 shot.

DSMs handle alot of power on the stock internals and are used to forced induction and I wouldn't compare a Neon motor to a 4G63.

Believe you about what?

If nitrous is done correctly, it's a great power adder. If it's done badly, that may just be asking for broken parts. Been there, done that.

Oh yeah wayy overpriced but I have a buddy who's a dealer for them soo I got a pretty good deal on mine.

but with his mileage on a stock neon motor it wont last very long if he hits the juice. Plus he will abuse the NOS not take advantage.
