Love it. Don't know about 'the best' but for the price probably. :)

It is pretty big and hangs low. If your car is lowered you have to be careful on speed bumps cause it might scrape.

I was just givin SubeTek a hard time cause he installed mine. :o

You know what they say about opinions! TurboXS makes a good product- i feel they leave some horsepower on the table with that design, not a bad design though. Buschur i haven't seen enough from to give a solid opinion, but they are another new company jumping on the WRX bandwagon and build good product for other makes so we'll see.

got a second opinion on the vishnu dp and the person i talked to said there is no way it makes any more hp than the turboxs just by the way its built there are to many bends.

SubeTek
02-23-2003, 08:34 PM
No problem. The Vishnu has no more or no less bends than any other. By divorcing the wastegate gas it doesn't disrupt the turbo as much as others, thus allowing the turbo to better perform it's job. I'm not saying that the other manufacturers exhausts are crap or anything like that. Just that from an engineering stand point Vishnu's makes the most sense.

what is your out look on that

SubeTek

By itself no single exhaust piece should make or break the system. Your best bet is to stick to one manufacturers whole system. Mixing and matching rarely works to your benefit. A whole exhaust that has been built as a unit can be better suited to a vehicles needs.

ya i understand that but then you can never find one that looks good or sounds good. what i am looking at right now is greddy cat back turboxs dp uppipe still not sure definatly a flex and you for the install , if thats cool.

SubeTek

No worries! I'll be ready when you are. We have the MRT uppipe in stock if you'd like to see it.

You can't install a TurboXS downpipe with any thing but the TurboXS midpipe. Then you can throw out the idea of getting a Greddy catback or any other catback for that matter. If you get the TXS exhaust, you will be restricted to your choice of axleback mufflers only.

so if i even if i get the mid pipe the greddy wont work with it. the txs dp doesnt replace the mid cat.

Yah Bret likes Vishnu stuff quite a bit ;). No but really Vishnu makes some good stuff... albeit a bit pricey it is quality stuff. If you are sold on the whole idea of a twin dump dp design BPM also makes an exhaust system similar to the design of Shivs "signature system".

TXS is pretty decent. Quite a few DP's use the large bellmouth design. Probably not the most optimal in terms of design like Bret said about disrupting the exhaust flow between the turbine and wastegate though. I agree with Bret also in the fact that you should get a a complete turbo back system from the same manufacturer. Although phast put together a nice looking, sounding, and performing system with a ScoobySport DP (bellmouth design) I believe scooby sport midpipe and Greddy exhaust.

I personally went with a MRT all the way from the turbo back mostly becuase it was a complete system and overall VERY VERY quiet even without any cats left in the system. MRT's DP has a divider in the bellmouth between the turbine exit and the wastegate which is sort of a compramise between the twin dump and the TXS style.

Right. It won't work with a Greddy catback. They designed the sytstem so that it will replace everything from the turbo back to the stock muffler section. They give you a choice of muffler sections then to chose from. (Prodrive, TurboXS, Stromung, etc)

It does replace the 3rd cat with their own cat section. However, it is NOT modular, meaning that it doesn't replace sections of the stock exhaust piece for piece. The downpipe only bolts up to their midpipe and vice versa. Most of the other exhaust systems are modular.

If you are interested in a used Scoobysport downpipe and midpipe, let me know. I'm thinking about trying something else out.

As long as it doesnt sound like my car :p

Naw but really very nice setup now you just need to learn how to launch that thing! and the "roll" tip looks alot better on the MRT system

What does everyone think about the Greddy catback?

phast

I got one and I love it. I had been through two others before it that were way too loud for my tastes. The Greddy is damn near perfect.

It has a nice note and is just about right in terms of loudness. I could probably live with it.

what are you asking for the downpipe and midpipe? Does it bolt up to the stock exhaust? Specs?
thanks
