I don't get it? I know grand am owners are WAY out there, but how are they more stupid? A V8 in a domestic is not as far fetched as an ITR motor in a Toyota Paseo.

The link didn't work, but the mention of a Grand Am did bring up an old, very bad, and slightly hilarious memory. When I worked at Medved selling cars (along with the best and the brightest highschool dropouts :p) there was this guy who bought this supercharged Grand Prix that the guy at Celebrity Tattoo used to own. Some of you guys probably have seen it. Green with a dragon hood, not to bad looking wheels, exhaust, and a dyno sheet that showed 300hp at 70mph. At least that's what this guy and his buddy kept telling me. So anyway, he kept telling me all this stupid shit he wanted to do to his car...

The turbo and nitrous: Him "I was thinking about adding a small turbo to help me get up to 400 hp."

Him "Cause dude, the only thing is, you know how when the turbo go out, it blows the whole engine?"
Me "No" (This was when I know next to nothing about turbos, but I still had more of a clue than him)
Him "You, know how like, if the turbo blows up, your whole motor is fucked up?"

Him, frustrated because he has NO IDEA what he is talking about. "Well never mind, I can't explain it."

Now about the race suspension. He told me "First I want full Race Suspension, then I want the Spyder suspension so I can control the height."

It's a goddamn good thing I didn't know as much about cars as I do now (or at least be able to argue ignorance with reason) because his ass would still be soar from the flaming I would have given him from being so stupid.

So later he totalled his car racing a GT Mustang, "I was beating him too, huh Junior, wasn't I beating that Mustang?"

Then later he was all fucked up on pain killers and damn near totalled this purple Maxima that he tool off the lot on personal business. What a tool.

Why is it cooler to mod a Civic than a Tercel/Paseo? At least he's trying to be different. Both cars are at the bottom of the totem pole of both companies, next to the Hybrid cars. It seems like the same thing to me. I'd rather spend my money on a nicer, faster stock car, then once the money was there... mod that.

If Paseos had become the people's popular choice then it would be acceptable and common to see them modded and the aftermarket would have catered to them and we'd be dogging the owners of another brand/model of car.

I admit modding a Paseo might be a little too late thing but if somebody makes one run even just 13s I don't think I would bag on 'em.
