I was looking at the cost of a built motor and turbo and it' coming to around $8000 max. The yamaha R6 will run somewhere around there and it's prolly faster if not as fast. also it's reliable, stock, and it'd be fun to ride. Now to get a loan...

Here's how I look at it, I'll get a turbo. Add more boost. Wear/Blow the engine up. Rebuild the engine. At this point I will have thrown somewhere close to $6k or more into the engine bay of my car...I just think this would be a better investment, with the proper courses before actually getting an R6.

Eric, you're doin' the same thing I just did about 2 months ago, I started thinkin' about what it would take to make my piece of shit anywhere under a 20 second car, and I've come to the decision that I'm goin' to drop a shitty B16 into it that isn't built or anything just to make it a bit faster than the slug that it is now... And with the rest of my money I'm gettin' an R6 also... And yeah that pic you've got there is the 2003 but the one that I was lookin' into is only a bucks more and it's got a pretty fuckin' bad ass paint job :D

What the B16A shitty...I wouldnt go that far, I rolled up to a 2G eclipse GST and put three car lengths on his ass before he knew it...the best part is they laughed at my car before we raced and offered to race for money. It may not be as quick as the B18C or B20 but it's still pretty quick. What bike are you looking at? used/new?

Well by shitty B16 I ment like a OBD zero that is old and torn out of a junker from a yard and is probably somewhere around a half a grand or somethin, ya know what I mean... Just like the cheapest B16 I can scrounge up... Oh and let me see here if I can snatch a pic of the 03 I was lookin' to snatch up... I herd it wasn't supposed to be out til March but I went and checked out a pricing plan and what not for it just the other day... I should have it BY march... And I'm hopin' to not have to finance it at all... That's goin' to be a long story though... Anywayz, I hope this pic works:

PS I've had second thoughs about maybe buying an older used one because you can get them really cheap and then just spending maybe another couple grand on getting a custom paint job... I've herd ppl say that your first bike should never be new or nice lookin' cuz you're gaurnteed to dump it atleast once... But even know I've never owned a sport bike before I have owned many dirt bikes and rode friend's bikes and I've never layed one down ever except for maybe when I was 8 years old on my first 50cc :D

PRACTICAL!? Maybe up here (because of the weather and bad roads), but if you're ever in FL or AZ or TX where it's sunny all the time, you'd be out riding every day. Hey, good gas mileage, you're able to whoop up on most cars, what's not to like?

Edit: except for the other drivers part....that's pretty much what not to like.
