I have one. 1981 Yamaha XS650. All I've done is restore some of the scratched up parts and put a K&N cone on each of the carbs.

The Yam isnt too fast, not when compared to sport bikes. It's a cruiser and has a twin that puts out like 45-50 hp which feels like plenty of power, but you wont see me smoking my tires or doing wheelies with it.

I work on bikes all day. I'll soon be buying a Duc 749S or a 999S. Haven't made up my mind yet. Can decide whether to buy the $17K bike or the $25K bike. I do have a few dirt bikes though. 99 YZ400, 98 YZ125 with a 167 bore kit, and a 02 XR50. Both YZ's have countless number of mods. My 125 will smoke the 400.
