View Full Version : New terrorism threat level...?

I was just reading on CNN that we raised our threat level to orange..or "high" just a little bit ago. http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/02/07/threat.level/index.html
I'm not some paranoid freak...but maybe they want to take the first step in going to war with us?
Anyway..here is the quote I found most daunting..."The information does not single out any specific chemical agent or target, but officials said they are mostly concerned about the vulnerability of so-called "soft targets," such as apartment buildings, sports arenas and amusement parks. "
Stay safe everyone...

I wouldn't worry about it too much. These threat levels are so obscure that the only thing they really do IMO is spread worry.
It's probably just a precautionary measure because of the imminent threat of war in the next few weeks.
You really think that things are 'obscure'? I'd think that "raising the level" would only come after much intelligence gathering & processing...

The whole threat level system is obscure. When Cheney announced it the other day, he even said to go about your lives like normal and that they have no specific knowledge of any targets. His advice was to not change travel plans or make any changes to your lifestyle.
I think that's great advice and it's exactly what I intend to do.
The whole point of terrorism is to make us afraid, hence the name. I refuse to play along. :)

no doubt - I was thinkin about the sports arena one big time, while at the Avs/Wings game on Saturday. But what a way to go, huh?
:)
they also mentioned mass transit systems.
*Gulp* I take the light rail to work everyday!
keep your eyes open for anything out of the ordinary, and things should be ok.
