I can give you a guys number with it done if you want? You can ask him about some of your questions and get some info. He's cool but if he tries to hit on you, tell him your bf hits hard and he will back off. JK he's cool as hell :D

Hello, Im new here, but had to respond.....
Just wanted to let you know that there are a few people around that have done this engine swap, including myself. Check out my poorly made web page that gives you all the info you could ever want about this swap. If you have any other questions, dont be afraid to ask! I am happy to help!

Unfortunately I dont know too much about the differences between the 2wd's and the 4wd's. BUT, I do know a person that put a 4g63 in a 4wd truck. It appears to be the same installation as mine, just going to a 4wd trans. I dont believe it is any more difficult than a 2wd. It bolts right up, like normal. let me know if you have any other questions......Hope to hear from you soon!

Eric Plebani did something like that a few years ago - a 4g63 16g mighty max for a daily driver. :)

So the transversely mounted 4G63 motor will attach to an inline-type tranny, and mount in the truck? That's pretty cool.

Yes Eric Plebani is the guy that I know that did the 4wd swap. The engine more or less just turns to a RWD position and bolts in. Well, once you change the clutch (possibly the transmission, depending on the year), flywheel, cooling system, flip the turbo 180 degrees, move back your firewall, get a bigger radiator, make new turbo oil/coolant piping and intercooler pipes, make a custom exhaust, and then figure out the millions of wires that make it run. hehehehe, besides the wiring, it is easy, it just takes time and money, like everything else!
