I didnt' know the police channels were still detectable by scanners. I thought most of the police departments had switched to a digital signal. Is it a digital scanner or one of the older ones? I have an older style one that goes to 512mhz. When I went to get a sheet of the frequencies the guy told me it was pointless since the channels were digital now.Originally posted by TheJackal

the police use 800 mhz digitally encrypted channels scanners do no good, other than the truckers word of mouth...
I sell dual trunking scanners a Radio Shack that are supposed to be just fine for the copos. I mean they have quiet channels, but not all of them are like that. Most just use dual trunking (I don't know what that means, but I know that's what they use).

What kind of discount can y ou get?
25% That's why I bought an FRS radio just for this meet. Hand-held dual trunking scanners are $199.99 at my store though.

Okay, just to recap
WHERE & WHEN:
Sunday, January 19th at NOON at Rockyard Brewing (880 Castleton Road (303)814-9273) Castle Rock
DIRECTIONS:
I-25 South toward COLO SPGS.
Take the FOUNDERS PKWY/MEADOWS PKWY exit in Castle Rock- exit number 184? 181? Oh hell, just look for the signs.
Turn RIGHT onto MEADOWS PKWY.
Turn LEFT onto CASTLETON DR.
Turn RIGHT onto W CASTLETON RD.
If coming from North Denver Metro Area:
Everyone thats meeting at Vans Skate Park, be there no later then 10:15 then we'll take off from there to be at the Park Meadows Soundtrack at 11 to meet up with whoever is meeting down there then head out to castle rock.
Vans: Heres the address and a map. The map sucks so good luck. Take 25 north to 36 west then get off ant 104th and go right and then left at the 1st light. Its behind the big amc movie thearter.
10685 westminister blvd westminister co 80020 (720) 887-9456
If coming from South Denver Metro Area:
For those of you down south (Golden, Lakewood, Littleton area), we'll meet at the Soundtrack at Wadsworth and Bowles, and go from there down to the Soundtrack at Park Meadows. We'll be leaving the Soundtrack at Wadsworth and Bowles at 11:00 SHARP, so be there by then, otherwise hump your ass down to the Soundtrack at Park Meadows, and we should leave there by 11:30 AM. OR we might just ditch them folks and go down Santa Fe, but we'll make that determination when everyone gets to the Southern Soundtrack at Wads and Bowles. I'm leading this crowd so if questions, call my cell on Sunday @ 303-960-6755, I'm Scott.
Park Meadows Soundtrack:
Soundtrack (I couldn’t find the Soundtrack webpage, so heres Toy’s R Us that’s right by sound track)
TOYS"R"US/KIDSRUS - ENGLEWOOD
9505 E. COUNTY LINE ROAD
ENGLEWOOD, CO 80112
Tel: (303)790-8697
Map (This map sucks, so go I25 sough to C470, just keep going right, you will see the sound track and mall on the right. You want to got to COUNTY LINE ROAD. And go right towards all the stores. Soundtrack and Toy R Us are on the right side of the road, and the mall is on the left. To get to soundtrack, youll need to go WEST on COUNTY LINE ROAD to the stoplight (Chester Road) by the TOYRUS and go RIGHT then go to the next stop light and go RIGHT Then go stright till you see a bunch of import cars. In the same area, you will see A getar center, a rockbottom brewry, a Jaxesanders, and a Golf Smith. If you see Dillards or The container store or BestBuy, You are on the wrong side of COUNTY LINE ROAD. I will get to the Toys R Us eraly and wait at the stop light. IF YOU GO PAST THE STOP LIGHT AT CHESTER AND COUNTYLINE ROAD, YOU WILL PASS A CAR DEALERSHIP ON THE LEFT.
For those coming from Colorado Springs:
What about 11:00 we leave from the gas station on Academy and I-25 for the Springs people.
What to bring:
Bodies, cars, jackets, good attitudes, 2 way Radios, CBs, Police Scanners, Digital Cameras, money for limited menu of food, and of course if over 21 money for:Beer: (Please drink responsibly)
What's not allowed:
Guns, knives, underage drinking, and bad attitudes!
What's not setup:
NO ONE figured out where to take a drive yet, so I guess we're not having a drive after the meet, unless someone comes up with a quick plan, prints out 50-100 maps, and gets on a real soapbox during the meet and explains it to everyone, LOUDLY (Better brink an airhorn and a megaphone)... don't post about it in this thread, it's already too big as is and will only get more confusing.
Weather:
http://www.9news.com/weather/default.asp (Look for scattered clouds and sun, warm weather at 60 degrees)

I've heard some rummors, but you're not really that dumb are you? I mean seriously, were the most people you were referring to, the ones who mostly don't have Green Cards, the ones who are mostly out on bail, or the ones who mostly have three kids at 20 and put 22's on their trailer?
Girliegirlsol: You don't want to be one of those people do you?

Do cops care if 100+ cars roll down I25 all in one line?
Would cops care, if I were to stop on the shoulder of I25 and film the big line of cars going by?

Funny you mention this. I was thinking about compiling some video throughout the year of all the HAI events and making a year end video. Maybe some small videos in between. I've already got some footage from the meet a couple weeks ago when we went to Longmont. I'm know Adobe Premiere pretty well and have done quite a few videos of my motorcycle riding over the last year and a half. Check em out :p
http://www.jackmoves.com/html/mod.php?mod=userpage&menu=16&page_id=10
The motorcycle ones actually have music, effects, and editing. Oh, I'll be packin' my digi camcorder for tomorrow and taking a lot of video, since I won't be able to drive my damn car.

Yeah they have a new industry editing system works hella tiiite... more like the AVID... but maybe we can get together on this and make a dope vid...checked out your site you got some good footage and nice editing too...
I have a question about the luncheon, in the email about it it says "What's not allowed:
Guns, knives, underage drinking, and bad attitudes!"
I'm just curious, does this mean that legally carried guns and knives are not allowed? Is there a reason why? Thanks.
Ashton
01-18-2003, 11:51 PM
because we dont want a bunch of iddiots (like myself) running around shooting and stabbing people if something gets out of hand.
well thats my thought anyways.
WagN2NR
01-19-2003, 12:18 AM
It would be very odd to have a gun at the luncheon, unless you are an on-duty law enforcemant agent. YOU WILL NOT NEED A GUN AT THE LUNCHEON! About Knives, stay with-in the law and its cool. I think (Not sure) the law is that a knife can not be carried if it is longer then 6 inches. also the knife cannot be consealed (Under your shirt or in a pocket).
Ashton
01-19-2003, 12:40 AM
i thought it was 3-4 inches....
WagN2NR
01-19-2003, 12:45 AM
I dont know the law on knives... I took Krav Maga (Self-defence) and my instructor used to take a 12" knife every where he went...He told me about the 6inch and not consealed thing. Damn that man could fight....

I just posted the guns, knives things up because it was partially meant to be funny, partially serious. Funny because all the oldies on this board know each other and we're all cool. It's the noobs we all have to be concerned with since some of them may be new to the scene or may not know how we hang.
marvin
02-04-2003, 09:38 PM
we need to have better place to hang out so the cops dont mess with us all the time for the last few wekeends we been in longmont and the cops are cool with us hanging out there as long we dont race ha ha ha ha ha
