Radeon 9700 pro = gaming goodness

wow... i must say this card kicks ass. I picked up the real ATI version for ~$320 and it is worth every penny. I have some programming stuff using basic pixel vertex shaders with little demo programs, and they pull over 1000 fps. I can play DOD/HL/CS at 1600 x 1200 resolution and always have a max fps. I can also now finally play tribes 2 and shock lance people because my fps don't drop to <15 when i get close to somebody. Morrowind still doesn't run smoothly (haven't figured that one out) but man everything else is great. If anyone has the cash and is thinking about getting one, i say go for it.

Nice card! I used to be big time into HL..but my comp is out dated now so my FPS and ping stink...but i can still own in a pub...

i'm kinda liking even the 9000pro i get decent fps outta that but i didn't want to spend twice that to get the 9700

I've got a GeForce ti500, and I really want to get a 9700, but I think I'm gonna wait till the GeForce FX comes out just to see what all the hooplah is about.

Ohh, nice card :D I just bought a GF4 Ti4400 not too long ago. Also just bought my fiance a GF4 Ti4600, these cards rule. I keep meaning to install Tribes 2 again, that game is so fun..I just can't keep myself away from Dark age of Camelot long enough to do it :p
