Hears what’s up: I start the car, drive to where I’m going (engine warms up), and then come to traffic/red-light. I feel the engine revving by its own power. I look at my gauges and it’s jumping from 150 rpm to 500 rpm. This has happened about 7 times so far. It started after I started to put mid grade gas in my car, so I stopped doing that but its still revving. Under normal conditions, the car will hold 150 RPM’s at idle speeds. To stop the revving, I have to boost the RPM’s to 1500 till it stops jumping. Hers some things that I think it might be: new high airflow filter, new fuel filter, and cold weather. I don’t think its a lack of air, because the new filter is supposed to bring in a lot more air then stock (Is to much air bad?). I don’t think it’s the electoral, it still happened when I turned my heater, radio, and lights off. Could it be the fuel pump? Or maybe a clogged line? Can you offer any ideas?

Sounds like Vacuum Lines are wacked or you may have an air sensor there that is bad... what year is the scooby?

So its OBD1 and it is probably a vacuum hose that is messed or a vacuum sensor...that is my shot at it...

OBD1? (Old Busted Down 1?) I should turn on my car and look/listen/feel for a leek? I should check Main Air intake, PCV, and By-pass air con. Valve? If it were a fuel line, woud it leek fuel? (My car has a line that takes the air in the gas tank and puts it in the Throttle body) Could it be my Knock senser? or maybe Fuel Press. Reg.?

On my car it had to do with the TB gasket and a leaking vacuum line.

What is TB? Do you know where the leaking line was? Did you fix it yourself?

I look for the leak, but i cant find it... What should I do?
