Intake + Golf = COOL!

Well BluByU came by this weekend to help me toss in a intake I won on ebay earlier this month. The intake was for a 96-99 Golf (I have a 01) but I bought it anyway since it was only 45 bucks.
Well the bracket does not really fit my car at all so we Ghettoized it in with some zipties. I am gonna see if Nuspeed or someone else might offer a bracket that will work but for right now this will be fine. Since it is so ghettofab I am holding back pictures for the moment. lol.
Anyway for a 30 minute job and 45 bucks this is a killer mod! I can't believe the sound difference in the engine! Just a little bit more pep, nothing super spectacular. The CEL was on for a while but I guess the computer reset after a bit because it is no longer on.

Anyhoo... I just thought I would post my feelings on what the intake did for my car.

I wish man.. That was the car I was looking at but my 28 year old ass still cannot afford insurance on anything Turbo.

I'm glad the CEL went away man. I'll let you drive my car if you let me ride your bike now that it's modded six ways from Sunday. When am I gonna do an exhaust? Did Joannah<--Spelling?? get scared yet?

Yeah tell me about it. I really have seen bad things happening in the sportbike world because of insurance fraud. So many squids wreck their bikes being stupid dumbasses poping wheelies in town then wreck thier bike and make a claim on it. I have rode bikes since I was 17 and never had a claim and only 1 ticket in 11 years on a bike. Well low and behold last year Allstate cancells me because of "The high preformance capabilities of your motorcycle". Pisses me off, I am 28, a home owner, MSF graduate and I started on a 250 Rebel, then a Magna 750 before even contimplating getting a sportbike. Really blows goats if you ask me!

Alex- Joanna loves it! lol. The first drive in the car (I did not tell her about the intake) we get on the highway and she is like "Man your car sounds like a race car sometimes" hehe :D Now she wants to drive it all the time. Maybe in April (after the honeymoon) I will be able to look at a 400+ exhaust system. Thanks though! You know you can take the bike out! YOU KNOW THIS MAN! :D

Oh one more thing.
Nuespeed emailed me back and they do not offer the intake bracket seperate.

Now that bracket is made for the Golf/Jetta III , it does not bolt in my car. Does anyone have any ideas where I might be able to score a bracket by itself?

I made brackets from sheet metal and tin shears...its a lil get'tow but it works (I think).

Thanks WagN2NR, I was thinking along those lines too, but rather just make and extention with sheet metal on the existing bracket.
