Okay, my girl has an '87 (86?) Nissan Sentra XE Carbuerated, automatic.
This thing is pathetically slow, and she being cool like she is, likes things that are fast. Its also a safety issue- that thing trying to get onto an entrance ramp is dangerous!
So I was looking for suggestions to give it some power. Any Ideas? Nothing too extreme and it has to be fairly cheap, grand total of no more than a couple few hundred. I already suggested the normal intake/exhaust, chip (does it even have an ECU?), usual suspects type of things.
Theres gotta be some ways to realease a few horses from it. She wants to keep the car, otherwise I have suggested to trade it in for something faster.
I know it sounds stupid, but I know it can be done, so dont give me crap for asking!
Thanks for any help, please include sources for parts.

Used NOS on EBAY. its the only way to fly. Not flaming but this is seriously the only way to get it going. They were that slow new and had to be the slowest thing out of Japan since the bicycle.

Just follow her around in your car and push her everywhere. Otherwise trade it in.

I need to talk her into trading it for something like an old 16V Scirocco. It could secretly be my new project, but she would pay for everything  . I just can't let her be faster than me. That would hurt my manhood.

Clean it up- Have the filters been replaced lately? what about the oils? Hows the cooling system? Does she drive with the AC on? Do the hoses look/feel good? You might be able to find light weigh pullies for less then 200$ that will give a few ponys, but the AC might not work as good. Are the Belts Good?

OH and BTW I put intake/exhaust on mine but I dont really feel the difference. What I did notice with intake/exhaust Is that its A LOT loader then it used to be, so ask first if she wants her car to be load b4 you mod it. The bigest boost of power i have felt, is from cleaning up the engine. I have not be able to find a company that can make a sporty chip for my car, so if you find one for that car, let me know, maybe they have something for my car.

hahaha try one of those electric turbos like that one guy was talking about a while ago. Seriously, 80 bucks on ebay or just put a lot of stickers on it, make people think its fast~jp

Lightweight pulley don't add power, they give power back, like I/H/E, just so you know. And if you do try some after market pullies, you better check and see if the factories ones have dampers in them, and if they do, DO NOT get ones that don't have dampers.

You only need dampers for the crank pulley. Accessory pulleys like PS, A/C, alternator don't have dampers and don't need them.

Tell her to get mikuni carbs and be done with air filters (loud as #%).:guns: Trade the engine for a FWD twin cam CA18DE Pulsar engine. You can find one in the junkyard.
