I have one as well all OEM. Fun gun, decently reliable as long as stay with the 10 round mag. MAtter of fact, fiirst 1000 rounds of wolf (I know) went through without incident.

What larger mags have you tried?
Ive read good things about the tapco 20 rnder.

I tried the AK 30rd with the duckbill to fit and some other 30rd you install a baseplate to fit. .Changing mags is stupid with the former, imo the spring is not strong enough. Experienced double feed, extraction errors, all sorts of other stuff with em both. I heard the tapcos were good as well. IMO save the detachable mags for the guns that were designed for it.

Where'd you get it? And how much did you pay? If you don't mind my asking of course.

Nice. I've got a Chinese version with a telescoping Tapco stock, red dot scope and some 30rd clips. Fun guns for sure.

I bought it off a guy from co-ar15.com for $240. I know its probably a little more than these run, but it had minimal use (100 rnds) plus the folding stock, which I was going to buy anyways.
Good Christmas present to myself.

So I bought a 120 round case, and a 20rd Tapco Magazine to start. Probably going to remove the bayonet, and if I can have it done semi inexpensivly, remove the grenade launcher as well

I'd keep the launcher. It should just screw off though. At least it does on the AK variant.

Any particular reason? Does it benefit the shot anyhow? Or is it just going to be useful when zee zombies attack.

Who doesn't want a grenade launcher? I want one for my AR :p

I don't see the grenade launcher. Someone circle it for me.

It's right below the johnson rod. Noob!

Well they used to be somewhat rare. At the last gun show a guy was selling them for $80 each. He also had the grenades for it, though they were dismantled.

Stu, yugo guns mount the grenade launcher on the front of the barrel. That isn't a big flash suppressor, its a launcher.

Ahh, I see. In that case, I'd take off the launcher as well. Then I'd take it to a gunsmith with a good rep and get the barrel threaded. ;)

Threaded For said supressor?

FTMFW!!!!

How much would a gunsmith charge for such a thing? I was also going to have one mount me a site as well. If its cost effective, they can do both at the same time.

Threaded barrel for a 7.62 x39? How retarded.

With that kind of rifle suppressor though, it may be different than threading the barrel on a pistol or something.

Some AK variants already have threads, but they mostly aren't known to be concentric, so you HAVE to check to make sure, or else you're likely to get a baffle strike on your can. Those threads might not be concentric because having the threads centered isn't that big of a deal for a flash suppressor because they are so short and open.

The nice thing about cans for rifles with flash suppressors, is that many manufatures make their cans where you just buy that companies flash suppressor, and can quick attach the can right to the flash hider. That's very nice and convenient, but again, makes it all that much more important to make sure that your threads are concentric.

stu

Sorry, it's just that a suppressor is badass.
Once you shoot a gun with a suppressor, it's hard NOT to want one. Same with a full auto. I got to shoot both at the same time. I creamed my little Hello Kitty panties.

249 Saw, 240 Golf, .50 Cal, Mp5, Ak 47.

Was the .50 cal a belt fed? (Aren't all full auto .50's belt fed?)

I also got to shoot a .50 BMG Barrett. That was cool too.

Yeah, belt fed. Yeah the Barrett is sweet, never got to shoot it, got to play around with it at the armory.

I bet a .50 cal couldn't knock someone over. ;) Stu, post the vid.

I think people basing weapon stats off of youtube vids is retarded.

stu

What stats are you talking about Conrad?

Dave, there is a video of a guy taking a couple of .50 BMG rounds to the body. He falls forward.

There is lots of controversy about the .50 BMG and whether it is better to be shot by a .50 BMG, or a .50 S&W. Some people will say that the .BMG is going so fast, that so little energy is put into your body and it will cut through you like a laser. While other people post that video of a .50 BMG blowing up dudes in Afghanistan (which is actually, someone shooting pigs or mountain goats or something in Texas). I personally think I'd try to avoid being shot by either round.

Just the wave of a .50 cal shot will rip your skin off if it's close...don't need to hit all the time.

Sorry Conrad, but you have actual knowledge and experience with what you're talking about, which is meaningless on the Internet. As you should know by now, people's imaginations, youtube videos, etc., are the only admissible evidence here. Noob!

Yugo barrels are already threaded for the grenade launcher, well, at least the AK variants are.

I would imagine that the threads are perfectly concentric since they are designed to hold a grenade launcher, and the launcher uses flip up sights that sit where your normal sights are.

It may not be enough, I dunno.

Ill have to check that out when I get back Chris. I tried unscrewing it already, but I didn't put to much force behind it because I wasn't sure if it came off or not. Thanks
