The Belkin piece is garbage, I've had two of them. Get the Monster iCarplay piece (the one that plugs in the bottom), I got mine for $32 shipped buy it now off ebay brand new in box. Do the same, you wont regret it.

Just to clarify, this is the belkin unit I've had 2 of. My brother has had one, all garbage sound quality, the fm broadcast signal is not near strong enough, and the built in eq distort the audio feed.

Here is the Monster piece my friend at Kicker designed for Monster back in the day. It has a crystal clear output, and also charges the ipod when plugged in.
