View Full Version : Compression test on a Motor already pulled?

Any ways to do it? I wanna double check a motor I have before I sell it, It was already pulled when I recieved it.

If it's got the clutch and flywheel and a tranny with a starter still attached to it, yeah. Ground the battery to the trans and hook up the power to the positive. Grab a small wire for the solenoid and jump that from the positive terminal to that little male plug othe starter with your compression gauge in a cyl, wide open and watch the gauge.

So ground it at the tranny, Put the positive on the positive starter terminal, then run a wire from there to the other ,male end on the starter?
I tried that but not the wire for the solenoid.

i can vouch for that cluster i saw it working perfectly before he pulled it!

Damn man I would but I gotta be back up for work at 6:00pm. The hatch will be done soon though so I'll definitely be cruising down there in the near future a few times. We'll get something planned.
