On November 21st, 2002 around 10:00am, ViperHost will be packing up all servers in route for the move to a totally new data center. This move is not only to better support responses, it will also improve network and server uptime. This move has been in the works for the past month and has finally been decided on and is going into effect.
Hosting plans & pricing will not change during this move, although there will be downtime during the move. We estimate a total of 26-30 hours (about 1 day, 4 hours) at this time for the total downtime, although there is not a for sure downtime total available to us as of yet.
We realize this is a significant amount of downtime all at once, although it is being done in order to better the services we offer. With this move, we may be introducing dedicated servers to our service list, meaning we will then offer shared hosting, reseller hosting, and dedicated servers (prices not yet available).
We are giving more than one month for everyone to prepare for this move and to get things together. We ask that you please notify all of your customers (if you are a reseller) and your visitors as soon as you receive this e-mail so they will be aware of the downtime as well.
We hope that the move will be completed much sooner than the announced time, although it is hard for us to give exact details or an exact time frame.
All questions regarding the move can be directed to admin@viperhost.com or support@viperhost.com. We ask that you please allow 12-24 hours for a response as we do expect many e-mails regarding this move and we want to make sure that everyone gets the answers they need in an orderly and timely fashion.
I hope that everyone will enjoy the new support and speed of the network after the move is completed; I have been assured that things will be much better and more reliable that before (or currently are).
Again, if you have any questions, please contact us!
