I think it's a good idea. It'll help people feel better and probably be a better employee. It'll never fly here in America though bc this is a free country and people have the right to be fat and lazy.

Some companies are not hiring potential employees that are smokers and if you do smoke they don't provide insurance.

I think its fair for a company to hire whoever they want...
You dont want a fat slob... dont hire one.
You dont want someone who smokes.. dont hire them
You dont want to hire queers... dont hire m@ and terry.

I really dont know what to think. On one hand, what a distraction for businesses to deal with. On the other hand, fucking good idea.

It seems like a good idea for the company, cheaper insurance, less people calling in sick, etc...

What do you think?
I don't think the company should be responsible and accountable for the individual decisions of it's employees.
There is already enough motivation for companies to provide things that help their employees get healthy (i.e. healthy lunches, exercising, etc) since it will cut health care costs that the company has to pay.
However, making the company accountable for the progress that person makes, or the decisions they make when not at the office (or the decisions that their spouse makes, who doesn't even work there) is an absurd idea.
Giving the government this much power over your personal choices is absurd.
I like to be healthy, and I think a vast majority of people prefer to be healthy as well. However, that doesn't mean we need the government making the choice for us to be healthy.
IMO this is a bad move, it will be interesting to see where it goes in a year or two and what kind of progress is made.

I don't think it would be good for a company to be responsible for it's current employees health but any new ones they should be allowed to screen if they choose.
