I have a 96 hx with a d16y8.I would like to build a rally style suspension.I am not so much interrested in racicing as I am keeping my car together on these park county roads, dirt and blacktop. Now don't get me wrong ,I like the v-tec as well as the next dude. The car will eventualy get a moderately built y8,lsd,4 wheel disc, strut bars upper and lower etc.I would like to keep the ride height as close to stock as possible,as I have to plow a lot of snow in the 6 months of winter we enjoy up here.I also would like to be able adjust preload and ride height separately.I am cosidering tein gravel type dampers and springs, maybe even the $2000(ouch) hg coilovers.I would like to keep it kinda modest, but I want the best(think pikes peak) set up for where I live.thx, jay

There are a few threads on Honda-Tech you might find helpful, like this recent one:

Dude is looking for advice on a tarmac rally setup for the Newfoundland Targa, has some damper recommendations.

Basically, either you need a little more ride height and/or a little more stiffness. You want suspension travel, you want bumpstops that work. I'd do Koni Sports and Ground Control with 250lb springs for a Civic, personally (but I'm a Koni/GC fan).
