Thinking of picking up a 2000 volvo xc90 I think it is... Its a 5 cyl turbo awd...

Anyone know anything about these? Are they reliable?

XC is the Cross Country crossover, right? A pal of mine bought one for his wife. I believe hers was turbocharged, but I may be mistaken. VERY nice cars, unbelievable crash test rated, and somewhat of a luxobarge.

From what I've heard of Volvo is this, they are great....but god forbid if something breaks...basically the parts and labor rate is through the roof.

Isn't that all European cars?

short of motor failure I think I can handle the mechanical.. but im looking for wagon with some power... preferebly awd.. and audi's all have electrical issues.. and subi's are too expensive in this state.. damn hippies.

Volvos are pretty nice cars, if its turbo charged expect the power steering pump/rack to go, and the turbo tends to go bad around 100,000 miles. I believe that there has been a recall on the power steering rack but not on the turbo issue. When we had ford.volvo, mazda at the auction I used to work at these were pretty common issues.

A friend of mine in Iowa has a volvo. Very nice cars and very smooth ride. I would get one but I already have a car.
