If anyone from NOPI reads this thread, they lost a few attendees for the remainder of their existance.
Myself included. I called and spoke with Nopi's VP of PR, and said those exact words to him. He didn't have much to say other than he completely understood and apologizes, that there's not much he can say regarding it, yadda yadda, but screw those guys. I won't bother running their events even if out of some weird twist of fate Bandimere freakishly invited them back.
It sucked last year and probably would've sucked this year as well. So F*ck them.
Last year was a drift/show only event, can't compare apples to oranges. Drag racing is what makes the Nopi series what it is - that's why it sucked.

Hot off the press from Bandimere:
Bandimere Speedway is disappointed to have learnedvia a press release from NOPI, that they have cancelled their Colorado and Utah events. The Colorado event was scheduled for Bandimere Speedway on June 21-22. With a week to plan a new event, Bandimere Speedway has revised the schedule as such:
Saturday, June 21 -non-points SUPER PRO, PRO,TROPHY, and SENIORclasses will be run under theFive-R Fall Series rules (entry fees, payouts, ET breaks). In addition, for those Sport Compact & Import racers disappointed in losing an event, a STREET TUNERbracket class, andheads-up action with theTC Performance STREET SPORT COMPACT presented byMartian's Powder & Ceramic Coating, and ImportSports / PFI Performance PRO SPORT COMPACT classes. The heads-up sport compact classes will run with the USP rules (www.uspracing.com (mhtml:{6F1AF6E2-3BF6-4097-83CA-36309AB4EFD5}mid://00000001/!x-usc:http://www.uspracing.com/)), as most local racers are familiar with and legal for these classes. Also, a TIME ONLY/GRUDElane will be provided. Racers may not run "Time Only" and a race class.

Yes, I beleive this will be a better "Racing" event than NOPI would ever provide for us. Now that this event is set in stone, everyone should tell all their friends, neighbors, aunts/uncles, dogs and pet goldfish about it. It will be a good event with this many classes and cars. No foam parties, no stereo contests, no bullshit NOPI "stoptheracingactionforsomegoddamnuglywhorestoshowo ffthehaildamagedassbikinicontest"

not yet, it will be there monday. It was in their email newsletter, and they sent out a bulletin on myspace.

My god that fucking my space page is HORRIBLE. I can't find the bulletin on there for the life of me.
Who the hell designed that - Homer Simpson?
So, uh, just read that USP requires FWD cars to be 2750 lbs?!?! WTF?! For this even, they're allowing 2,500 lb. cars and 22" slicks, but WTF @ that weight?
Martian

Discussions are being had over this and other rule issues M@. USP rules being used was Mike B and Bandimeres idea. Others are in favor of a tire only rule.

I take it as being a points event for our class, but not those running under the fall series rules:

Yeah, as for refinds, I believe they do not give any, just credit towards their next local event, (which could be never IMO)... thats $65 down the drain for me :(
Am I correct to assume that this event will be racing only, no show? I plan on attending either way, but was just curious.

The Bandimere family owns and operates a business. If NO-PEE wants to spend their money here, Bandimere will let them. Burning bridges in the racing world is never a good thing. NOPI has never done a damn thing for me or my business, so I can take the position that I have without guilt or possible repercussions. FU NOPI.
