I've not watched the video, but our nation was indeed founded on Christian principles.

Our nation was founded to be secular with church and state separated. The founding fathers were pretty clear about that. In the video McCain is basically saying that the "christian way" is the only way. What happened to religious freedom and preventing persecution based on that principal?

It's just sad that we've strayed so far away from what the country was founded upon. We were designed to be a nation of free thinkers where it didn't matter if the next president was a Christian, a muslim, or an Atheist. It's too bad that isn't the case.

It's funny though that England which was formed under the "church" is actually more secular than we are. I would guess that the religious oppression over there in the olden days helped shift that though.

I think it's pretty obvious that McCain isn't a religious person but has to say this BS to rally the Christian vote

He's very wishy washy, a big flip flopper when it comes to questions of religion and things like abortion.

He voted for petty abortion bills but also voted to support stem cell research. There are a lot of examples over the years.
