The Flobots have come out with their official video for the song "Handlebars". If you haven't seen it yet, you should. If you don't know who they are yet, you will soon and need to. They are hands down one of the best band's of our time, and they're from Denver to boot. Lots of discussion and debate on what the song's actual meaning is... what do you guys think?

This video is very powerful.
As far as the meaning? I think that it has a lot to do with facism.
I think we are getting damn close, if not already there in some form or another.
Facism- a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.
Best band? Geez M@ - you don't have much taste in music do you? :) :)
Opinion? It sucked. Bigtime.
But you're from a different era of music, John, so it doesn't count. I can almost guarantee your kids both like the song/band. Different strokes for different folks. I'm willing to bet 1/2 the stuff you like makes me want to throw up.

The handle bars song is good but i couldn't name another song they sing so "Hands down one of the best bands of our time" is a little higher than I think of them.
I think the video sucked.

I tested that theory. 18 yr old guitar player son (damn good guitarist if I do say so myself) said "fuck that - it sucks". My 15 yr old daughter who has her finger on the pulse of 'modern music' agreed - paraphrasing her: "Eewww -- Hurl!!!".
Sorry, but they aren't that good. Honest. :)

I agree with Brandon. I'd be surprised if even half their album was as good as that song.
I just searched for the video on Youtube as well. No wonder John didn't like it. The version for the video fucking sucked. The version they play on 93.3 is much better.
Same thing with the original version of Single File's song, Zombies Ate My Neighbors. Ever since they got signed for the label, the "cleaned" up version they play now isn't as good as the first version they played. Disappointing.

I agree... I like alot of music but that song sucks donky balls. I have heard others by the flowbots and have liked them but that song is pointless and craptacular.

Flobots are pretty good. They have like three good songs or so, that's just from songs i've heard over the internet. Their lyrics are repetative, but strong and symbolic at the same time...kinda wierd.
I thought the video what pretty good. Thier was a lot of little things in there that make the video what it is in the meaning. The end of the video was pretty strong though, that's for sure.
As for zombies at my naighbors...whatever version they play on 93.3 is soooo much better than the original. It's much more instrumental. The original sounded like they were just fkn clashing trash cans and shit around with a bass and electric guitar strumming random chords in the background.
