TW: HAI Poker meet May 17th

I have been wanting to plan a little get together for a while now, and finally have an opportunity to have a poker meet! If all goes well then I will have them each weekend, or every other weekend. Who's in?

It will be May 17th, at my house in SE Aurora. I will have some beer on hand, but I'm not sure if you guys drink PBR like I do... Any suggestions? I figure that anyone who wants beer besides PBR or Canadian beer could bring some beer down, or pitch and I will have it ready here. Any suggestions?

We can go a couple of ways with this.

There is tourney style, where the buy in is the same for everyone, and the chips we all start with will be the same as well. Most people are comfortable with this method when first starting with a new group of people.

The second is chips and cash, there would be a buy in like the tourney, but then you can add some cash to your stack on the table. Only cash on the table at the start of the game counts, money from the pocket after the start of the game does not count.

I figure we can all agree on how we want to do this. I think the tourney style would be good to start with until we get comfortable in our games, and we have the same group going. I think that the money on the table later on will make it more interesting. Another factor in all of this would be the number of people that will be playing. That would affect the buy in for sure. I figure the first couple of these we do could be a $20 or $25 buy in to start. What do you guys think?

tourney is prob the best also. do a $20 buy in... with the option to rebuy once. payout for the top 3. 60% for 1st, 30% for 2nd, and 10% for 3rd. So even if 10 people play 3rd place will not loose anything.

I'm down for a tournament style setup, anything up to $60 buyin is cool with me. I can get Jake to come too, so count down at least 2.

Awesome, I will start to post the names of everyone who is coming on the first post once I get out of work and get home. I think the tourney is the best way to go then, and I think that the $20 buy in should be good. There is no reason why you couldn't get more chips later, that way everyone won't have to shell out more than they are willing to. I might have to pick up another set of chips! :D
