I'm planning on going. Does anyone know if FWD cars can use slicks for this event. I could not find any info in Bandimere's website. Street tires on my car would suck at the track.
Probably just DOT approved drag radials.

M@ is correct about this one. The car has to be “street legal”.

I think you can run slicks. Slicks do not make it a "race" car.

This will be the first year in 9 years that I wont make this event. Gonna be busy on the dyno all day. :(
That suxors Tobi.
I just realized my brother ran slicks on his GTO last year all day long, so I'd assume you're safe. Just call them, they're usually pretty good about answering/returning calls to drivers.
Last year this even sucked because there were so many slow ass granny cars/mommy machines. Literally, like 300+ 16 second cars, etc. It was freaking retarded. Hopefully they regulate on that somehow this weekend.

Slicks? I thought the idea was to be street legal? Traction impaired wusses. ;)
Since you have so much power just ripping out of the 4Runner. :D

And I have zero traction issues. :)

I should just bring the slicks anyway unless they tell me I can't use them. Even with slicks I could not do better than 12.7 @ 117mph. I don't want to know how it will do with DOT tires.

I wouldnt even waste the gas to run in the heads up class. If you havent ran in the high to low 10's then you wont stand a chance enless every car u run against breaks.I think in the bracket classes you can run dot approved slicks and in the heads up classes you can run slicks

Why would they turn cars away that's the whole point of the event?

Ummm, because last year they hadn't even gotten to the first round of eliminations until 7 pm with over 300 cars to compete. THAT'S why. If I recall correctly, they weren't able to finish the event because it went past the track's noise ordinance curfew.

Definitely not running the heads up class. I'll call them tomorrow and see what I can use for the bracket race.

You're missing the point. They got their money, do you really think they care if the event finishes? The car count has been down this year, I don't think there will be a repeat of last year.

Ya, last year was recockulous. There was something close to 700 cars I believe.
I left at 5pm with only 1 run. Big waste of time.
Good luck to those that go, my car wont be ready by then.

I think they should put a limit on cars since it isn't good publicity for Bandimere;first come, first served. I miss it 10 years ago when not every tom, dick and harry had to show up with no clue what they were even doing.
Exactly. Pinks puts a limit on entries, why shouldn't Bandimere do the same? In my opinion, racers should have to go to at least one T&T and be able to provide a time slip, etc. and only have them allow XX.XX cars, and X amount of cars for X class, and so on and so forth. And obviously, if they are a registered racer, guarantee them a spot in the show regardless of whether or not they show up first or not.

Holy shit I didn't realize it was this weekend. Myself and a few friends were planning on running. If I get my lazy ass out to the garage to change my oil before then I'll be there to take the Vette on it's maiden voyage down the strip.
