Hmm I think I'll come out to this. It'll be interesting to see how much HP I pick up at altitude from exhaust, plenum spacer and intake. Not expecting much, but I do want to know...

Neg. T-case fluid will spew out of the output shaft, IIRC.

can you just drop the driveshaft?
No, like matt said.. fluid everyhwere.
You also have to have a welded center diff or vc eliminator,
I'll remove the driveshaft and transfercase.

What if we don't have wheel locks? Will just regular lugs not work?
HONDA GHANDI
05-27-2008, 07:14 PM
regular lug nuts are fine. The message is for people who have locks to bring them. Nothing peeves me more than getting the car jacked up, half the lugnuts torn off to find out the key for the locking nut is sitting on the coffee table 20 miles away.

Curiosity - how do you dyno automatics? Just put it in the 2nd lowest gear selection?
HONDA GHANDI
06-02-2008, 03:00 PM
It depends on the automatic, It needs to have some way to force it to stay in a single gear for it to work on our dyno. If that is possible, I try for the closest gear that has a 1:1 ratio. Usually 2nd or 3rd depending on the car.
myshtern
06-02-2008, 03:11 PM
It's a crappy 4-speed w/ overdrive (2007 Pontiac G6). I'll check to see if I can keep it in a single gear. I cant seem to find gear ratios online for it

3rd is 1.1:1 but I dont think we can keep it in the same gear at 3rd. 2nd is 1.6:1, will that give an accurate read?
HONDA GHANDI
06-03-2008, 07:45 AM
it is still accurate as long as I can get a full rpm sweep in a single gear.

Yep, it's crap. I've got L, 3, and D for my gear selection all of which seem to do the same thing. On 3, shifts at about 5500rpm whereas redline is 6250. I dont see any way of keeping it in gear, you know any tricks for new GMs?
HONDA GHANDI
06-03-2008, 06:27 PM
Not without a GM scan tool, no.
