anyone going to be there? I have a few customers getting some early season testing in on some new setups. Hope to see you up there. I might try to get some testing runs in on the Hellement on the E-85. I need to get some 60foot practice on the new setup as well.
Still need a snail, slicks, and a tune or else I'd be there. Might go to watch though.

$35 for racers, $10 for spectators, free if you are just bringing a car to tech.

Hopefully the track will be ready...
Well, considering it's only 3 days away, I'm sure it probably is. Can anyone verify?

The private test was canceled last Sunday because it wasn't ready.

I will be there testing with my new 3.
Friday night is supposedly tech inspection & registration for anyone, so I am going to swing by after work.
I wish Bandimere could handle construction as some of the other tracks. Bruton Smith is building his new track in North Carolina from scratch and it will be done in just a couple months. From groundbreaking to an NHRA national event in a few months.
Houston Raceway Park repaved their entire strip in less than a week a couple years ago. I went on a Saturday, and then came the following Friday and the entire track had been redone.

I will be there watching. Unless some wordly disaster comes about. Do they just cancel these things if the weather is bad?

Um, yeah they cancel them if the weather is bad.

Just rain? Or wind too? Obviously you cannot race when the track is wet.
Nevermind. I will just look it up.

It has to be REALLY REALLY windy for them to cancel the whole day. It may cause a delay but no cancellation.
Jon, they usually go to about 4 or 5 and then call it a day.

I should call in sick this Saturday. I would really like to see how the CRX runs in full street trim and hopefully it passes tech. I briefly looked at the 2008 sport compact rule book. I'm not too familiar with it and gets kinda confusing so if you guys can help clear up a few things. So my goal this year is to not go any faster than 12.0 with 23" slicks. Just do test/tune, E.T bracket racing and attend some events. For a turbo car and E.T. Racing only, what class am I considered in? I think it's either Hot Rod or Sport FWD. So according to the rule book, I need a helmet, fire jacket and an "engine containment" device (catch pan or diaper)? Will tech enforce the diaper even for test/tune only? Anything else I need to know? I've already installed a kill switch for the battery relocation and someone told me that I cannot have a cracked windshield. Appreciate the help.

You will need a fire jacket and helmet. Your car isnt fast enough to be in Hot Rod or SFWD so you would not need the engine diaper. You would probably be in bracket or quick16 (if they still have it because of the NOPI/NHRA merge). The windshield crack dpends on how bad it is, but should be replaced when you can.

Bah! The start line is terrible. Until they get some rubber down I wont be able to test again. That along with my shitty clutch anyway.

That sucks.
Got there about 4:00, left about 4:30, bunch of slowpokes while I was there.

The starting line is better now. They ground one lane down after you left, supposedly doing the other this week.
That was the worst case scenario and they did it. Afterwards the left lane started to absorb rubber and had some traction.

Im sure it will be ok by opening day of the regular season. Im just bummed that I ended the season last year on a broken clutch and Im starting it out on a broken clutch. I was hoping to get some good testing in on my new suspension setup but the track was not having it.
