Since Quaife (made in England) has had several issues over the past year with supply and the ever increasing price hikes due to rediculous exchange rates to the US dollar, Autotech now manufactures and distributes an improved LSD design. Designed and manufactured entirely in the USA these will be much easier and faster to acquire. At about the same price as the Quaife unit, with the same lifetime warranty I urge you to read up on this unit and consider it in the future for your needs.

They will have an application list out shortly. They assured me everything quaife makes will be on the list, as well as a few others.

the german cars really need to look at Pelquins, http://www.peloquins.com

Quaife didnt patent there torsen diff so lots of people are starting to produce alternatives that are just as good or better than a quaife.. I have even heard that you can get some cheap ass china made torsen diffs off ebay, polish all the rough edges down and get just as good results and reliability as a Quaife for 1/4 the price..

that being said Ive had 2 Quaife Torsen Diffs and been completely satisfied.. but alternatives and competition are always a good thing.

I wonder if they'll make one for the Isuzu transmission I use. Oh, that would be sweet.

I actually know someone who bought the Chinese LSD for a RWD application and it actually worked pretty good right out of the box.

The Quaife stuff has always been a bit pricey, but there really werent any solutions since Autotech was thier only US distributor, and everyone had to buy from them, or buy from someone buying from them. Thats changed now, especially since Carbonetic has a far superior unit out for the same or less money, and Quaife has decided to deal with other importers and wholesalers for thier units. I carry the Quaife, Carbonetic, Kaaz diffs.

FWIW Quaife COULDNT patent the Torsen design because they didnt design it or develop it, Gleason/Torsen did and Quaife produced it under license from DANA/Spicer who aquired Torsen a while back.
