Investment property

I was wondering if anyone on here own / managed a rental property. I have the chance to buy a family members property for a fraction of what its worth (1/2). Was seeing what peoples idea are. It needs some work but nothing too major. Its a duplex in wash park, so the area is very nice. Its a older home but not in horrible condition. Just was wondering what peoples thoughts were?

The rental market in the area is super strong. Let me know if you'll need materials for the remodel - particularly bathroom fixtures and tile.

Yeah its pretty dated. The previous people who rented the front unit were in it for 10 years and moved out about 7 months ago. So its pretty dated as far as the fixtures go.

Well got the inspection just now, looks like it will need some upgrades to the electrical and pluming. Everything still works just its just old.
