Maybe they can solve the oil leaks.

Oh well, that's two cars I never intended on owning anyway even if I had the dough for either.

I have been following this for a while now, and it doesn't look good for either one of those brands. I think that its reasonable to believe however, that the value of the existing vehicles may rise as they release their lineup. If that happens, then the value of my LR3 goes up.

To be completely honest, ordinarily I would pass these 2 up as well but the LR3 beat out all the other 3rd row carrying SUVs in my book. Its the best 4x4 I've ever had, and its comfortable as can be.

Wow. I hope Tata is outsourced and not ran by the same folks who my company outsources to. On the other hand Jaguar and LR aren't really known for their reliability.

I actually think this will bode well for both brands. Not to mention the 3 other brands that fall under that umbrella, Rover being one of them.
Tata is a pretty big company, and they manage things pretty damn well. Of course Ford is retarded for selling one of their more profitable brands(Land Rover).
Also any company named after a boob can't be that bad.

Quality of Land Rover? LOL
Land Rover is right up there with the worst. Sure, the structure is solid, but not much else is. Suspension, electronics, drivetrain, etc is literally near the bottom of the industry despite the pricetag. Ask any disco or Range Rover owner about it. The LR2/Freelander is worse.

you must work with some of the people we have to :)
One of the sales reps I work bought an LR-3 (http://www.landrover.com/us/en/Vehicles/LR3/Overview.htm) a few months ago. Pretty nice car, but way outta my price range.

The freelander uses epoxy to keep the sleeves in place.
