In my attempt to make the CRX more streetable this year, I've invested just a little bit on my suspension set-up. My old Skunk2 and Tokico set-up was just a bit harsh for the street. After reading some great reviews in other forums about PIC Performance products, I decided to buy the PIC Apex P1 which are the non-adjustable dampening model. They offer a few pre-packaged sets and the spring rates I chose on the front are 8k(448 lbs) and rear 6k(336 lbs). The dampers are valved to match the spring rates perfectly. They have shock dynos available at their site for each model. The dampers also have a tolerance of +/- 2kg so if I want to get slightly stiffer rates than I could do so. A great feature PIC offers for the EF models are the extended top hats for the front dampers. So for those that really want to ride low will have a bit more shock travel to work with. These are height adjustable at the damper body and not the spring perches so you will not loose shock travel unlike traditional slip over coilover sleeves. Overall, the ride quality is excellent. A little bumpy at cruising speed up to 65mph, likely from the spring rates but at high speed and sharp cornering it definitely gives more driver confidence. It literally smooths out and cornering is just amazing. So any one in a budget looking to improve their suspension, consider these. I almost bought into the 18-36 way adjustable dampening set-ups and only to find (based on shock dynos) that they don't have much of an adjustment at all. It was more like 4 way dampening adjustability. I purchased the PIC Apex P1 for $792 shipped with a Honda-Tech discount code. The guys at PIC have awesome customer service and they really know their stuff. Great quality product too. Up next will be replacing all the OEM suspension bushing. http://picperformance.com/store/scripts/news.asp

That's pretty stiff for a streetable car. But then again, I ordered some 12k/10k coilovers.

Ive read really good stuff about PIC on H-T. I've been curious how the ride quality is for the price. Sounds like a good deal for what you paid. May have to keep them in mind when i upgrade the EJ1.

Yeah the spring rates are a bit of a compromise. It's very tolerable and performs well under heavy duty use. 12k/10k rates that's gotta be a very firm ride.

$792 direct from Pic Performance with a Honda-Tech discount code. I can find it for you if you are seriously ready to buy. Best investment I made for a simple, effective and affordable coilover set-up.

i had some omni's on my car with i think 8k/10k spring rates...it wasnt as bas as i thought...except hitting bumps on the highway...c470 in certain areas sucked.

little off topic do you work out at 24 hour fitness? I saw a silver crx with a huge front mount and I'm assuming its your car.

The spring rates are just a little stiff for the street but it's tolerable. They have really good dampening so it does not get bouncy at all. I actually drive a lot on C470. The ride with these coilovers are much better than my previous set-up from KYB's and 10k/8k Skunk2 coilovers. I just moved to Littleton and work out at 24 hr fitness on Bowles/Kipling. So I'm sure that was my CRX you saw out there. I'm there four times a week between 8-11PM. Look for the Filipino dude if you want to say what up.

Thanks man. Haven't seen you much in this forum. I'm sure you've been busy fabing up turbo manifolds. Did you see this thread http://www.highaltitudeimports.com/showthread.php?t=62921. I've had a few people ask about the top mount so I sent them your way via the "other forum". I'm hoping to run 12 sec flat on the 20th. Say what up if you make it down to Bandimere then.
