I am going to be getting another key for my TSX and was wondering if anyone knew of a place (besides the dealership) that could program the immobilizer chip on the key.

Only the dealer has the equipment to do it. Some lockmiths will have the programmer to copy an aftermarket key to an existing key that you have but not a factory key. They cannot be written to.

Hmm. Anyone know if the dealerships are pretty strict about this. I am going to get a 07+ TL Switch blade key and will need it programed for my TSX.

I would try Flatirons Acura. They are pretty hip to doing modifications and stuff.

I dont think they can do it... you should see if they can give you a special price if you have a shop business and if so I can call them and try to get it for you for cheaper...

If it can be done, John G. will hook me up. Thats not the issue, the issue is CAN it be done with he parts dept programmer. If not the tablet scan tool is necessary in which case blueFang will have to take his car, all of his keys down to the shop and have them program the keys for him. Which takes some time and will cost a few bucks.

Which i think is the issue because the site i am getting the milled key in said that you have to take in all your keys so they can be reprogrammed. Its gonna be expensive I know but frankly I don't mind. I need another key anyways...
