Plus I doubt that emission will do anything since there is no cat on the evo... anyone else? Please save me the work of taking off all the stuff and putting back the stock parts

You will at least need to have a CAT on there. They won't even start rolling the car if they don't see one on the exhaust. They will ding you if you have a check engine light showing as well.

Not true, the check engine light is not a failure for emissions anymore.

dont they scan it to see what the code is? if it comes down to it i can look at work to see how to reset the check engine light right before someone gets testing done.

Some times they dont look for the cat, depends how lazy they are.
Check engine light doesnt matter anymore.

That is awesome! That means that I don't have to change that o2 sensor after all! LOLz
Repair the car and get the test done. Forward thinking, man.

why don't you just put the cat bak on but jus hollow it out it well sound the same and they well still see that you have one but you know that it is hollowed out!!!

I should also add, that I have fixed the code since, I just had to get plates since I park it on the street. added bonus being the gas mileage went up when I fixed it :)

Yeah, I am looking forward to that as well with my CEL. Too bad GM put the sensor in a retarded place, or I would have resolved that already.

Emissions is such a joke... most of the time when they "look" for a cat, they are just doing it for appearances and aren't actually looking, and the readings can vary a bit depending on how they drive it (they usually drive like monkeys). CEL's don't matter... they are advisory only.
This is what I did for my cat-less car... http://www.rm944.com/weston/pics/Rear-080325.jpg It just turned 25 years old. :)
