View Full Version : Sealed Speaker Enclosure Question
I'd like to seal off the speaker enclosure behind the seats in a del Sol. Currently they lead back into the body of the car and I know I'm losing sound. Any ideas about how to construct a speaker enclosure that will fit and not just sit loose inside? Thanks.

If you are talking about just trapping sound then you need to insulate and reflect the sound. R30 inbetween 2 sheets of MDF.

I was too tall to deal with a box behind the seats in my del Sol so I just put a HUGE box with lots of power in the trunk instead. Worked great even tho you do miss a fair amount of the sound.

JL Audio does make really nice custom sub boxes that are made specifically for the Sol that go right behind the driver and passenger seats. I believe they hold 10' speakers.
