If i remember correctly with a little bit of work you could but a H22 head on the F22 block.

Or you could just get a whole H22 swap and be done with it. Their is only a 15 hp difference between a F22b2 and F22b1. So unless you get the head and ecu for free i don't think it would be worth it.

yes, the VTEC head can be put on the non-V block. Its not worth it though, thats why it isnt done very often.

There is an issue with the water ports in the F22B SOHC VTEC head . The 90-93 F22a block is missing a bump out that , FOR F22B blocks flows water into a extra port in theF22B head. The F22A block does not have this bumpout in the block ,so if you install this F22B head on the F22a block , there is nothing there to keep the water from flowing from the exposed water port in the F22B head onto the ground down the back of the block.... I guess some people plug the port in the head.. But I agree, I'm not sure it's worth it.
You will also need the F22B header AND intake. The ports are different and closer together. this is not an issue for 94 on F22 blocks

Not many people know how to do the swap with the h23 head correctly though as I learned through a few bad experiences

You can put a H22 head on it. I wanted to do it for the longest time on my Accord but it's a bitch. Coverting the car to Vtec is not...hard...it's just...time consuming. As Ghandi previously stated, it's not worth it, just save your money and go for a full swap. The H22 in an Accord is a DIRECT swap.

there duznt seem to be much gain by puting on a sohc vtec head
ive put an h22 head on, and it was fun. but its better to use the newer f23 blocks for this.
if u use the older f22 blocks, u have to block 2 coolant passages on the head or it will leak everywhere.
and with either block, u will have to modify the water pipe on the back, as the t-stat housing on the h22 is larger, so u will have to cut a f22 pipe in half as well as an h22 one, the weld the 2 together(or silicone coupler might work ;?)
and another issue is the timing belt. u will have to use the lower gear from an h22, then, for the water pump, u will have to remove the gear from the f22 one and replace it with an h22 one. but u HAVE to use the accord water pump housing. the gears can be pressed off/on. if u dont do this, u will eat up t-belts. ( i went thru 3 before i figured this out).
but thats pretty much it.
it took me a week to figure out all the bugs, but well worth it in the end.
my h22 head on 93 f22 block *(bone stock exc. I/h/e) made 176hp @ the wheels and ran 14.4 @ 92 mph in a 92 cx hatch.
but with the f23 block from an '01 accord, the water passages seem to be in the same spot as the h22 so u may not need to block them.
and this made more power and tons of torque.
plus this was pretty reliable. as i drove the car everyday like this for nearly 2 years (til i hit a fuckt up pot hole on broadway one nite, and took out the oil pan)
another plus with the new f23 block is that the rods are bushed from honda, so u can use prelude type s pistons with no modificaton to the rods, just have to have the cylinders opend up a bit.
so for a marginal budget, u can have a monster build, that makes hella torque and is reliable.(as reliable as any other honda motor being raced)
i made around 230 hp and 220tq with this set up, including stage 3 cams, full valve train upgrade and skunk 2 manifold. bottom end was stock (i count the type S pistons as stock, dont u?) haha
anywayz, if u do decide to do this, let me know, i can totally help u out. i love this conversion! haha
